The French automaker Citroën has managed to expand its lineup in India. However, expanding the lineup has not resulted in an increase in sales. For this reason, the company is still stuck with inventory from 2023 and 2024. As a result, the company is now providing significant discounts on its models to sell them quickly. It has been reported that the maximum discount on Citroën vehicles is up to Rs 1.75 lakh, and these discounts will be valid till 31st March.

The Basalt was launched in India last year, and since then, it has been a slow seller. The Basalt is offered with two engine options – a 1.2-litre Gen 3 PureTech 110 bhp turbo and a PureTech 82 bhp naturally aspirated engine. These engines can be opted for with a six-speed torque converter automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Why Is Citroën Struggling in India?

The French automaker Citroën is struggling in India as it currently has limited brand awareness. It entered the Indian market in 2021. The company also does not have a strong dealership network, and its products' poor value proposition has also contributed to its struggles. Lastly, the competition it faces from other automakers is also not helping it become successful in India.
