Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe In Red And Grey Colours: Real World Images Ahead Of August 2nd Launch

The French automaker Citroen is gearing up for the official launch of its all-new Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV in India. This unique SUV will be launched on August 2, just a few days before the Tata Curvv coupe SUV, which is its direct rival. Now, prior to its official launch, a number of pictures showing this SUV on the real roads of India have been shared online. The two models have particularly been seen finished in Red and Grey color.
First off, let’s talk about the images of the Red Citroen Basalt that has been spotted. This particular car was seen parked on the side of a road. From the front, it can be noted that this car, which appears to be the top-spec variant, gets a ton of premium details. It gets the signature Citroen grille, which incorporates the Citroen logo in the middle. It is finished in chrome.
Next up, we can note that the top-spec variant will get LED DRLs and LED projector headlights in the split design. Apart from these, the front air vents are also sizeable and there are fog lights on the lower bumper as well. Additionally, a chunky silver skid plate adds to the premium appeal of the Basalt.
Moving on to the side profile, this particular top-spec variant features a set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the rear features the main highlight of this car, which is its sloping roofline. The wraparound LED taillights add to the premium appearance. Additionally, we can also note a massive silver skid plate at the bottom. Overall, the red color on the Citroen Basalt looks very modern and sporty.
Apart from the Red-colored Citroen Basalt, there have been a few sightings of the grey-colored Basalt as well. This particular car, however, was a mid-spec variant. It can be noted from the images that this variant does not get diamond-cut alloy wheels; instead, it comes with wheel covers.
Apart from this, it can also be seen that this variant gets red accents on the front bumper. Another grey test mule was spotted earlier, and it was seen with all the same design features except for the fog lights, silver skid plates, and alloy wheels.
Citroen Basalt’s interior has also been shown in a few teasers. It has been noted that this coupe SUV will feature the exact same dashboard layout as the Citroen C3 Aircross. There will be a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the center. It will come equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Underneath this infotainment screen will be the automatic climate control system and air vents. Additionally, it will also feature a digital instrument cluster. Other features could include electrically folding wing mirrors, cruise control, wireless charging, and keyless entry and go.
Coming to the powertrain details, at the moment, the Basalt will get the same 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine as the C3 Aircross. This engine will generate a maximum power of 109 bhp and 205 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, there could be an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic, both of which will drive the front wheels.
