Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe: Prices Of All Variants Revealed

The only competitor the Tata Curvv has in the Indian market is the Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV. Upon launch, only the starting price of the car was revealed but now the entire price list of each trim has been announced.

The Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV was launched at an introductory price of just Rs. 7.99 lakh which made it the cheapest Coupe SUV in the Indian market. We are awaiting the prices of the Curvv ICE which will be revealed on September 2nd.

The price of Rs. 7.99 lakh is highly competitive and Citroen made headlines with their new offering. The deliveries of this affordable Coupe SUV will begin in the first week of September and you can book it from your nearest Citroen dealership. Now, let’s talk about the variant wise pricing.

If you need dual tone paint, you will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 21,000.

It is clear from the pricing that the brand has tried to keep the starting price as low as possible. Earlier, Citroen was criticized for having expensive cars with less features and consequently not being value for money. The brand has understood the Indian market and now they are trying to offer feature loaded cars at lower price points.

The Basalt is being offered with two engine options: 1.2 liter Gen 3 Puretech 110 turbo and a Puretech 82 naturally aspirated engine. These engines can be opted with a 6 speed torque converted automatic or a 6 speed manual transmission. The turbo engine delivers 190 Nm of torque while the naturally aspirated engine delivers a torque of 115 Nm.

Commenting on the launch, Shishir Mishra, Brand Director Citroën India, said,

The main focus of Citroen with the Basalt is to offer a comfortable experience. The Coupe SUV offers best in class cabin space and a class leading wheelbase.

The rear seats gets adjustable thigh support for additional comfort and the front seats also get extended thigh support for extra comfort. This Basalt is the only car that offers adjustable thigh support in the rear seats. This is a particularly useful feature to have for long distance driving as it greatly enhances comfort.

The car does not lack too much in term of features. It comes fully loaded with 26 cm Citroen Connect Infotainment system, which supports Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ensuring seamless connectivity. The My Citroën Connect 2.0 system offers over 40 smart features, including remote engine start and geo-fencing, adding convenience and security. However, it does miss cruise control.

Standard safety features on the Basalt include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Hold Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
