The French automaker Citroen India has finally launched the Dark Editions of its popular models: the C3 hatchback, Aircross mid-size SUV, and the Basalt. These new top-of-the-line models have been launched with stunning black paint jobs, new blacked-out exterior elements, and all-black interiors. Now, in order to promote these new Dark Edition models, Citroen has launched an all-new TVC.
This new TVC, showing the new Citroen Dark Edition models, has been shared on YouTube by Citroen India on their channel. In this short video, Citroen has used a dark theme where all three models are shown scarcely. Also, the company has made sure to make this advertisement very appealing with the use of a deep voice for the voiceover.
It starts with the narrator quoting a statement: “Dark gets a bad name.” He adds that often the villain lurks in the dark, and also the alleyway that people avoid is dark. However, he then adds and asks viewers to think about the times when darkness has disappointed them. The voiceover continues and states that all good things, like the strongest coffee and richest chocolate, are dark.
He also adds that the best kind of humour is also dark, and yet the dark still gets a bad reputation. We can note that during this voiceover, the video shows the unique dark elements of the Citroen models. It shows the C3 hatchback's side profile, then shows the Dark badging that will be a part of all the Dark Edition Citroen cars. Additionally, the video also shows the new all-black interior of the cars, with Dark Edition lettering on the seat covers.
