Citroen's India portfolio consists of four models- the C3 hatchback, Aircross SUV, Basalt, eC3 electric hatchback and the flagship C5 Aircross. Now, the manufacturer is about to jump on the ' Dark Edition' bandwagon. It will launch Dark editions of the C3, Aircross and Basalt. The manufacturer has recently been teasing the Dark range on social media. The details of these, however, are yet to surface. The Dark series is expected to get Black-themed exteriors and interiors. There will not be any mechanical change on the special edition. Here's what we know about these upcoming models.

Citroen C3 Dark Edition: Stylish New Look

The C3 Dark Edition will get an exclusive Black exterior colour with subtle design updates. The alloy wheels will sport a dual-tone finish, while the faux skid plates up front will retain their silver colour for contrast.

Inside, the C3 Dark Edition will offer a full-Black interior with red stitching across the dashboard, seats, and armrests. The front seats will also carry ‘Dark Edition’ embroidery and grey inserts. Additional accessories like seatbelt covers and cushions will also be part of the package.

Under the hood, the C3 Dark Edition will use the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines as the regular hatchback. Buyers can choose between a manual gearbox and a torque converter automatic, depending on the variant chosen.

The Basalt is Citroen's coupe SUV which enjoys decent acceptance in India. It will also receive the Dark Edition treatment. It will receive a full-black paint job with contrasting elements on the bumpers and grille. The wheels will remain unchanged, but a Dark Edition badge at the rear is to be expected.

Inside, the Basalt Dark edition will swap its beige and bronze colour theme with a blacked-out dashboard with contrast stitching. The air conditioning controls get a dark chrome finish, while all features from the top variant — such as the 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, and six airbags — will remain the same.

This edition will only be offered in the top-spec trim, powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 109 bhp. A 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission will be available. A premium of Rs 30,000–40,000 over the standard variant could reflect in prices.

Citroen C3 Aircross Dark Edition

The C3 Aircross will receive the same Black treatment with some additional features to increase its appeal. The SUV will get a black exterior paired with silver skid plates to avoid visual monotony. The dual-tone alloy wheels will likely stay the same, but a ‘Dark Edition’ badge in black will be placed on the tailgate for distinction.

Inside, the cabin will feature Black leatherette upholstery with Red highlights. Gloss black accents on the dashboard, illuminated sill plates and ambient footwell lighting will also be present.

Mechanically, the Aircross will continue with its 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines, available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Launch Timeline

Citroen could launch all three Dark Editions soon. These are expected to launch on April 15, 2025. Pricing will likely reflect a modest increase over the existing top variants of these vehicles.

The Dark editions aim to give customers more stylised versions of the C3, Aircross and Basalt, and potentially capitalize on India's growing affinity for Dark-themed cars and SUVs. The line of manufacturers offering 'Dark' range will only expand in the upcoming years.
