December And January Car Launches To Watch Out For: Honda Amaze To Maruti eVitara

This winter season is not going to be cold for the Indian automotive industry, as a few hot new models will be making their way into the market. In the months of January and December, major automakers will be launching new luxury D-segment sedans and electric SUVs. So, without any delay, let’s jump right into the details of the cars coming in the next two months.

Honda Amaze

The first and highly anticipated car launch of December 2024 will be the newest generation of the Honda Amaze. It will be launched on December 4th. This time around, the Amaze will ditch its classy looks and move towards a more edgy and futuristic design. It will look like a sharper version of the already popular Honda City.

At the front, it will be getting an all-new front fascia, which will be much sleeker and boast a new grille and a set of LED headlights. It will also get a new bumper. The side profile will also be changed and feature a new set of alloy wheels. The rear will be equally aggressive as well.

As for the interior, we can expect to see an Elevate-inspired dashboard layout. Its features could include a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will be free-standing. Also, it could get a sunroof, a wireless charger, and other amenities. The powertrain is likely to remain the same as the current generation model.

Toyota Camry

The Japanese automotive giant Toyota will be launching the newest generation of its popular hybrid D-segment sedan, the Camry, in India. This time around, the design of the next-generation Camry has been made even sharper and will look very futuristic.

It will get an evolved new exterior and a redesigned interior with a ton of added new features. The new Camry will come with a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ADAS, new rear seats with reclining and ventilation, and a few other features.

The powertrain will also be updated, and it will now come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain, which will now make 227 bhp. It will also be offering an impressive mileage of 25 kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

After teasing for over a year, Maruti Suzuki India Limited is finally going to launch their first all-electric product, the e Vitara, in India. Their first EV SUV will be making its debut in January. The company has tried to stay as close to the eVX concept, which was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo in 2023.

For the production version, Maruti Suzuki has changed the front-end design slightly and has added projector headlamps and a revised bumper. At the side profile, new alloy wheels have also been added. Meanwhile, the rear also gets minor revisions but still maintains the overall futuristic design.

The new e Vitara will get Maruti Suzuki’s most premium-looking interior. It will get twin connected screens, a wireless phone charger, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and more.

As for the EV powertrain, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be offered with two battery pack options. The first will be a 49 kWh battery with 144 hp and 189 Nm torque from a single-motor setup.

On the other hand, the bigger battery pack will be a 61 kWh battery with 174 bhp in FWD and a dual-motor AWD variant producing a total of 184 bhp with 300 Nm of torque (AWD variant). The e-Vitara is expected to start at Rs 20 lakh.

Creta EV

To directly compete with the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, Hyundai is gearing up for the launch of the Creta EV. The new electrified version of the Creta will boast a new design on the exterior and will get a changed interior as well.

As per the reports, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV will get a 45 kWh battery pack and offer a range of 450 km in single full charge. As for power, it will make 138 bhp and 255 Nm of torque. Expect it to be priced in the range of Rs 22–30 lakh.
