Careless Scooter Rider On Phone Crashes Into Maruti Jimny Parked On The Roadside [Video]

Never use a phone while driving a car or riding a two-wheeler. This causes distraction and often becomes the reason for accidents on the road. People are well aware of the dangers of such acts but, for some reason, still continue to do it. Here we have a new video from Kerala where a distracted scooter rider who was on the phone crashed his scooter into a Maruti Jimny that was parked on the side of the road.

The video has been shared by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel. The video was posted on Instagram and the vlogger picked it up from that particular page. The video was recorded by the CCTV installed outside a house in Kerala. The exact location of the accident is not known.

The car belonged to an architect and he had parked the car in front of the driveway of a house on which he was currently working. The car was not on the road and it was not causing obstruction to any road user. We see a scooter coming from the rear of the Jimny. The scooter was coming in at a speed which we assume was above normal.

Everything seemed normal but, as the scooter came closer to the Jimny, we see that the scooter was moving towards the parked SUV and the rider was not doing anything to correct the direction. As expected, the scooter came and rubbed against the right side of the SUV. Upon impact, we see the rider losing his balance and his smartphone falling on the road.

It looks like the rider was talking to someone on the phone while riding. He didn’t notice the scooter moving away from the road and by the time he spotted the Jimny, it was too late. The rider lost control and a few meters after the Jimny, the rider fell on the road and the scooter went and fell inside the bushes on the roadside.

The rider was definitely injured. The good thing in this accident was that the rider was wearing a helmet and there were no other vehicles on the road when this happened.

If any other vehicle was passing through in the opposite direction or coming from the rear, the scooter rider might have got hit by that vehicle and he would have been seriously injured.

In this case, the scooter rider was completely at fault. It was the rider who was distracted from the road and that caused the accident. Never pick up phone calls when you are driving or riding.

If you really want to speak to someone on the phone, it is always a good idea to stop the vehicle and then finish the call before resuming your journey. People often get so involved in phone calls that they forget about their surroundings and end up causing accidents just like in this case. The rider was not only putting his own life at risk but also the lives of many other innocent road users.
