4 New Affordable Petrol SUVs Launching In The Next 6 Weeks

The demand for petrol-powered SUVs in India is increasing every day. Due to this, most automakers are now offering petrol engines with their popular SUVs. Now, if you are an SUV lover looking for upcoming petrol SUVs, then you have stumbled upon the right place. Here are the details of four petrol SUVs from Tata Motors and Mahindra Automotive which will be launching in India in the next 6 weeks.

Four new petrol SUVs launching in 6 weeks

Tata Sierra - November 25

The first SUV on this is the Tata Sierra mid-size SUV, which has already been unveiled. This upcoming Hyundai Creta rival will be launched on November 25th, and its main highlight will be its unique design and its iconic badge. As for the heart of this SUV, it will be offered with two petrol engine options. The first will be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and the other will be a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine.

In terms of power, the naturally aspirated engine will produce around 120 bhp and 140 Nm of torque. As for the turbo petrol, it will be capable of producing 167 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. The latter is expected to come with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. In addition to these, a detuned version of the 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine will also be on offer from Tata Motors.

Tata Harrier - December 9

Soon after the official launch of the Sierra, Tata Motors will also be offering its popular SUV Harrier with a petrol engine. Most likely, the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine used in the Sierra will be seen on the Harrier. It will make 167 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Currently, the Harrier is only offered with the 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, which makes 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque.

Tata Safari - December 9

Being the bigger 7-seater sibling of the Harrier, the Safari will also be launched with the same petrol engine option on December 9. Both of these SUVs share all the same components, and hence, they will be getting the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine as well. Once launched, the Safari petrol will take on the Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.

Mahindra XUV 7XO - Late December or early January

At the moment, the launch date of the Mahindra XUV 7XO (XUV700 facelift) has not been revealed. However, most likely, it will be launched around 3rd January next year. The upcoming XUV 7XO will continue to offer the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which is currently being offered by the company. This engine makes 197 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful SUV in its segment.

The upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO will be the facelifted iteration of the XUV700 and will boast a number of exterior and interior design changes. On the outside, it will be getting a set of new and sleeker LED headlights with new LED DRLs. It will also get a new front grille and a front bumper as well. Additionally, the SUV will also get new alloy wheels and a new rear bumper as well. In terms of the interior, it will boast the same triple-screen layout as the XEV 9E.
