Honda Amaze Gains New Crystal Black Pearl Shade

Honda has introduced a new Crystal Black Pearl paint finish for the third-generation Amaze. With this addition, the compact sedan is now offered in seven shades, expanding personalisation choices for buyers.
The new colour is available on all variants without any additional charge. Prices for the Amaze continue to start at ₹8.10 lakh ex-showroom. The no-premium approach keeps the Amaze competitive in the compact sedan market, where affordability plays a major role in purchase decisions.
Along with Crystal Black Pearl, the line-up now includes Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic and Obsidian Blue Pearl.
The Amaze competes directly with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura. Among these, the Dzire dominates volumes, while the Aura maintains steady sales with frequent updates. The Amaze sits in the middle, and Honda’s decision to add variety without extra cost could give it a small but important edge.
Where the Dzire and Aura sometimes charge premiums for special paint finishes, Honda’s flat pricing ensures that buyers do not have to compromise on colour choice to stick within budget.
The compact sedan market remains challenging, with only a handful of models holding ground. The Amaze continues to be Honda’s mainstay in India, keeping the brand present in an entry-level sedan space that still has steady demand.
With GST 2.0 benefits expected to reduce Amaze prices by up to ₹95,000, Honda is giving the model fresh momentum. The timing means the sedan can compete more strongly through the rest of 2025, especially as rivals step up with discounts and feature upgrades.
There was a time when White made up more than 50 percent many car’s sales. Now, urban buyers in particular are showing stronger preference for darker shades.
We have had car makers across the spectrum launched blacked-out cars. Black cars have an aura of their own but can be slightly more difficult to maintain and keep shining when compared with white cars.
The second factor is the heat that black cars absorb, which in a tropical country like India is something many are wary of. Then, there's the matter of black not being an 'auspicious colour'. Even so, Indians - especially the younger ones, are moving towards black cars in a big way.
Black is often seen as sportier, more stylish, and tougher to maintain than lighter tones. By introducing Crystal Black Pearl, Honda is tapping into this trend while giving the Amaze a subtle design refresh between major updates.
The new option adds personalisation without any extra cost. For Honda, it keeps showroom conversations active and gives the Amaze a talking point against the Dzire and Aura, both of which remain the benchmarks of the segment.
