Honda Elevate: Two New Special Editions Coming Soon

Honda’s mid-size SUV, Elevate, is set to get two new special editions in the Indian market. Honda launched the Elevate mid-size SUV last year, and it offered the brand a new lease of life in the Indian market. It is currently the only SUV from the Japanese car manufacturer in India. As per reports, Honda is planning to launch “City Sports” and “Dark” Editions of the Honda Elevate in the Indian market.
We’ll start with the Dark Edition first. As the name suggests, the Honda Dark Edition will feature an all-black exterior. Black shades have been gaining popularity among buyers lately in India. It was Tata that started this trend, and other car manufacturers, including Maruti Suzuki, followed the path.
In the Dark Edition version, we are expecting an all-black exterior, including the grille, logo, and door handles. It wouldn’t be wrong to assume that Honda would also offer blacked-out alloy wheels and a dark color-themed interior to match the overall theme. Other than these cosmetic updates, the SUV will remain mechanically the same. There were reports that Honda is expected to launch the special edition variants of the Elevate next year in March.
However, many dealerships have requested the brand to launch the SUV a bit earlier to ensure that customers don’t lose interest in the product.
Coming to the City Sports version, we are expecting a different kind of cosmetic update. It wouldn’t be wrong to expect red-colored inserts on the exterior with a different set of alloy wheels and City Sports branding.
Just like the exterior, the interior of the SUV would also come with minor changes. For example, the SUV might get red inserts on the AC vents along with red stitching on the seats and steering wheel to differentiate it from the regular Elevate. The SUV might also get branding on the seats to show that it is different from the regular Elevate.
Just like the Dark Edition, the SUV would remain mechanically unchanged. The Honda Elevate is powered by a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated i-VTEC, 4-cylinder petrol engine with 119 Bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque. The SUV is available with manual and CVT gearbox options. Honda does not offer strong hybrid technology with the Elevate.
Honda mentioned during the time of the launch that they would be bringing an electric version of the Elevate SUV in the future, and a strong hybrid version is highly unlikely. Coming to the features, the Honda Elevate offers a spacious cabin with features like an electric sunroof, ADAS (or Honda Sensing, as they like to call it), automatic climate control, cruise control, push-button start/stop, and so on.
Honda also launched an Apex Edition of the Elevate in the market a few weeks ago. The Apex Edition also gets some cosmetic upgrades. Regarding the price, Honda Elevate prices currently start at Rs 11.69 lakh, ex-showroom, and go all the way up to Rs 16.71 lakh, ex-showroom.
The upcoming Dark and City Sports Editions will be priced slightly above the standard price. It remains to be seen if Honda will be offering these editions only with the top-end variants. These variants are expected to hit the market after Diwali this year.
