The Japanese automotive giant Honda Cars India has now launched a new edition of its popular mid-size sedan, City, in India. This new model is called the Honda City Sport, and with this edition, the company aims to target the younger generation of buyers. Recently, a detailed video walkaround showing the newly launched Honda City Sport has been shared online. The vlogger shows all the new things offered by Honda in this new model.
This video walkaround of the new Honda City Sport has been shared on YouTube by Anubhav Chauhan on their channel. It starts off with the host talking about the positioning of the Honda City Sport in the existing lineup. The new City Sport sits above the standard V variant and below the VX variant of this sedan and comes offered only with the CVT gearbox option.
As for the pricing, it is priced at Rs 14.89 lakh. This makes it Rs 49,000 more expensive than the V CVT variant. Meanwhile, it is Rs 48,000 more affordable than the VX CVT variant. After this, the vlogger highlights that the City Sport commands the premium because of the cosmetic changes made by the company on the outside as well as on the inside.
Following the introduction, the vlogger starts giving a detailed walkaround of the exterior of the City Sport. He first shows the changes made on the front fascia of this sedan, which include a new black grille. The host also highlights that the upper garnish on the bonnet, which is chrome on the standard model, has been finished in piano black on this model.
Apart from this, the lower front grille is also new. As for the headlights, they are the same as the standard V variant, which includes projector lights and halogen bulbs. Next up, the vlogger shows the side profile of the vehicle and adds that the overall design is the same. However, the main highlight is the new gunmetal grey-colored 15-inch alloy wheels. He then moves to the rear end of the sedan and shows the newly added piano black lip spoiler.
Moving on to the interior, the vlogger shows the interior of the City Sport. He states that unlike the standard model, the Sport edition gets a fully black interior. The roof and pillars on the inside are finished in black, and the seats also get black leather upholstery. The standard V variant comes with fabric upholstery.
To add a more sporty appeal, the company has also added red stitching all around. As for the dashboard, the overall layout has been kept the same. However, the City Sport gets a red trim on the dashboard, along with the same red stitching.
The vlogger then highlights that the company has also added ambient lighting on the dashboard as well. However, he then shows the control for the brightness of the ambient lighting and mentions that it looks a bit cheap and aftermarket. Other features include a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, ADAS, and others.
In terms of the powertrain, the Honda City Sport gets the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine as the standard model. It is capable of producing 121 PS of power and 145 Nm and comes mated to a CVT transmission alone.
