Hyundai is gearing up for a big year, and has plans to launch 5 new electric vehicles (EVs) in the Indian market. It aims to capture a bigger share of the EV pie by offering a diverse lineup. Let’s take a closer look at these upcoming EVs from the Korean carmaker.

Creta EV

The Creta EV will probably be the first electric vehicle launch from Hyundai next year. It will also be one of the most important launches as the ICE Creta enjoys immense acceptance. The vehicle will make its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. It will borrow multiple design cues from its petrol and diesel counterparts. There will be a closed grill, new bumpers, new alloy wheels and low-resistance tyres.

While most of the cabin design will likely remain identical to the outgoing model, the EV is expected to come with new steering wheels, a rotary drive mode selector, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS level 2, dual-zone climate control, and many other features.

It is expected to offer two battery pack options, although exact capacities are yet to be known. Reports indicate that the larger battery pack could deliver a range of around 450 km.

IONIQ 5 Facelift

Hyundai recently unveiled the facelifted Ioniq 5 EV, with a host of updates that take its comfort, range, and aesthetics to new heights. It comes with a major powertrain upgrade in the form of an 84 kWh battery pack, delivering a range of 631 km.

In addition to the powertrain improvement, Hyundai has made key modifications to the EV’s comfort levels and performance dynamics. It now gets better dampers that offer a smoother and more controlled driving experience. The carmaker has also improved its sound insulation levels. The car looks more stylish and modern with its revised grille, new wheels, and updated bumpers.

Inster EV

To compete directly with the Tata Punch EV, Hyundai is preparing to introduce the Inster EV to the Indian market. This micro-SUV is built on Hyundai’s E-GMP (K) platform, with a modern, futuristic exterior with a unique, quirky design.

Inside, the Inster EV could come with dual 10.25-inch screens, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), automatic climate control, and a 360-degree camera. It will likely be offered with two powertrain options: one generating 97 bhp and the other providing 115 bhp.

Battery options will likely include a 42 kWh pack, capable of delivering a range of approximately 300 km per charge, and a 49 kWh pack, extending it to 355 km. Expected to be priced between Rs 9-15 lakh, the Inster EV will rival not only the Punch EV but also the Citroen eC3.

Grand i10 EV

The Grand i10 NIOS will also get an all-electric version. This model is expected to be Hyundai’s response to the successful Tata Tiago EV, which has captured considerable demand in the Indian market for its affordability and value.

The Grand i20 NIOS EV is anticipated to offer a driving range that is suitable for city use, while retaining most of the features from the ICE version. EV-specific additions like regenerative braking and unique interior accents could also be added. Information on the powertrain specifications is still under wraps.

Venue EV

The Venue EV will battle with the highly successful Tata Nexon EV. Leveraging the established Venue platform, it will get competitive pricing and a robust equipment array.

Recent spy shots and industry rumours hint at it getting unique design elements like an EV-specific grille, redesigned bumpers, and reimagined lighting. On the inside, the EV will mirror the design of the outgoing Venue, but with new exclusive upholstery and better materials.
