Hyundai is gearing up to launch the facelifted Alcazar SUV in India. A few teaser videos of the upcoming SUV were out recently, giving out key details of the design. The new Alcazar is expected to feature significant overhauls in design, cabin experience and feature array. Here’s a quick look at the top 10 changes to expect on the facelift:

1. Revised Exterior Styling

The facelift will have key changes to its design. It will be influenced heavily by the design of the outgoing Creta. Key highlights include fill-width LED light bar, dual-function LED DRLs with signature H styling, a redesigned front grille with dark horizontal slats, headlamps that look like the ones on the new Creta, new bumpers with front skid plates, new smoked tail lamp design, etc. There will be body-coloured door handles and roof rails as well. The teaser also shows new dual-tone 8-spoke R18 alloy wheels as well.

2. New Colours

The facelift will be available in a total of 9 colours. Three of these will be all-new shades- Robust Emerald Pearl, Robust Emerald Matte and Fiery Red. Other colours are Titan Grey Matte, Starry Night, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and Atlas White with Abyss Black roof.

3. New Dual-Tone Cabin Colourway

The 2024 Alcazar will come with a new layout and colourway for its cabin. Unlike the previous car, the new Alcazar will have a new dual-tone colour scheme comprising Noble brown and Haze Navy. The dashboard will wear dark Blue while the upholstery will be finished in Tan.

4. New Horizontal AC Vents

Keeping up with the current trends, the new Alcazar will have stylish new horizontal AC vents. The new design might be able to bring about a more even diffusion of cooled air. More details of this are yet to surface. The vehicle will have dual-zone climate control.

5. Four Ventilated Seats

The facelift will have up to four ventilated seats. The new Alcazar will be available in both 6-seater and 7-seater forms. The 6-seater version will have captain seats for the second row. Both the first and second-row seats will get ventilation.

6. Level 2 ADAS

Like the outgoing Creta and Seltos, the upcoming Alcazar will also get Level 2 ADAS. The suite will have 19+ features like Forward Collision Avoid Assistance for vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, Junction Turning, adaptive cruise control, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist etc.

7. IONIQ-Like Magnetic Pad

Like what we had seen on the Ioniq 5 EV, the new Alcazar will have a magnetic pad to the right of the steering wheel. This can be used to stick souvenir magnets or as the Hyundai website shows, images and photographs using magnets.

8. Smartphone-Based Key

The official teaser shows the upcoming vehicle to come with a smartphone-based operation for door lock/unlock and other key functions. More connected tech is expected as well.

9. Boss Mode Function

The vehicle will have powered seats at the front- for both the driver and co-driver. The passenger seat will also offer ‘Boss mode’ function for added convenience. The second-row occupant can use a pair of buttons to easily move and adjust the co-driver seat. Many modern-day cars and SUVs, particularly in higher segments, offer this function.

10. Welcome Retract And Memory Functions For Front Seats

Both the front seats on the upcoming Alacazar will be powered, and the driver set will get 8-way power adjustments, memory and Welcome retract functions. ‘Welcome retract’ will automatically make the seats move in a way that facilitates easy ingress.

All these new additions and improvements make the wait for the new SUV worth the time and effort. It will launch in India on September 9, 2024. We expect the prices to be higher than those of the outgoing Alcazar. Hyundai has already started accepting bookings for the facelift.
