Hyundai India is gearing up to launch the facelifted Alcazar on the 9th of September, and the company has already opened bookings for this much-anticipated 6 and 7-seater SUV. Advanced Technology and Connectivity

One of the key highlights of the new Hyundai Alcazar is the introduction of a Digital Key with NFC technology, a first for Hyundai India. This cutting-edge feature enables users to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle using their smartphone or smartwatch.

The Digital Key can be shared with up to three users and linked to as many as seven devices simultaneously. This versatility will be of use for large families and in shared ownership scenarios.

Furthermore, the Alcazar will be equipped with a 26.03 cm (10.25″) HD infotainment touchscreen, seamlessly integrated into a bezel that also holds a digital instrument cluster of the same size. This dual-screen setup will resemble the unit seen on the outgoing Creta. The new Alcazar will also come with Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control (DATC) with a touch-sensitive control panel.

Enhanced Comfort and Convenience

The facelifted Alcazar also introduces several first-in-segment features, such as a magnetic pad on the driver’s console and a second-row wireless charger, both designed to boost user convenience and improve the larger experience. We have seen a similar magnetic pad on the IONIQ EV as well. The infotainment system will have a multi-language User Interface, supporting 10 regional languages and two international languages, thereby catering to diverse customer demographics.

The new Alcazar will offer 10 ambient sounds (‘Sounds of nature’ as Hyundai calls it) including “Lively Forest” and “Rainy Day”. There will be a strong focus on connectivity as the three-row SUV will get over 70 Blue-link-based connected car features, including smartwatch and smartphone integration. Additionally, it will have support for more than 270 embedded voice recognition commands, available in Hindi, English and Hinglish.

Other features to be expected include rain-sensing wipers, an 8-speaker Bose Premium audio System, a voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, second-row seat ventilation on the 6-seater version, large horizontal AC vents, motorized front seats with Boss mode function for the co-driver seat, full 8-way adjustments for both front seats, cosy retractable thigh support for the second row, etc.

Design Changes And Colours

The facelifted Alcazar will be offered in a total of nine colour options, including three new shades: Robust Emerald Pearl, Robust Emerald Matte, and Fiery Red. Other colours are Titan Grey Matte, Starry Night, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and a dual-tone option featuring Atlas White with Abyss Black roof.

The new SUV will feature several key design changes, heavily influenced by the design language of the new Creta. It will have a full-width LED light bar and dual-function LED DRLs that feature signature “H” styling. The grille will have a new design that incorporates dark horizontal slats lending it a more assertive presence. The headlamps look similar to those on the Creta.

2025 Alcazar will also have new bumpers with front skid plates, fresh-looking tail lamps, body-coloured door handles and roof rails. It will ride on new 8-spoke, 18-inch (R18) wheels.

Powertrain and Performance

The updated Alcazar will continue to be powered by its existing engine options- a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 160 HP, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 115 HP, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The SUV will have multiple traction and drive modes, with presets for snow, sand, and mud. Hyundai is set to announce the prices of the Alcazar facelift on 9th September, with deliveries expected to commence by mid-September.
