Hyundai Alcazar Mid-Size SUV Facelift: Launch Date Revealed

The South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor India has been relentlessly working on the development of the new Alcazar facelift. Now, finally, it has been revealed that the updated Alcazar SUV will be launched on September 9 in India. So far, we have seen a number of spy shots of different test mules of this SUV on Indian roads. These camouflaged vehicles have highlighted that the new Alcazar facelift will boast a number of updates on the exterior as well as the interior.
For the new 2024 model, Hyundai will be offering the Alcazar facelift a ton of new design updates. It will be getting a brand-new front fascia that will bring it in line with its mid-size SUV sibling, the Creta. It will continue to get a split headlight design; however, this time around, it will be more pronounced.
Like the Creta, it will come with a connected LED light bar on top and rectangular LED headlights set in the middle of the front bumper. The grille will also be new and most likely feature dark chrome to add to the sophisticated appearance. The front bumper will also be completely new.
Test mules have also revealed that there will be an ADAS sensor on the lower front bumper as well. Most likely, there will also be a front camera, which will accompany this safety feature and offer a 360-degree camera as well.
Moving to the side profile, the new Hyundai Alcazar facelift will remain almost the same. There will be a few differences, of which the major difference will be provided by a brand-new set of alloy wheels. This time around, the alloy wheels have been made to look a lot more sporty. They will most likely be 18 inches in size and boast a dual-tone finish.
As for the rear end, the new Alcazar facelift will be getting a set of new taillights. These will now feature a mix of vertical and horizontal lighting elements. Also, there will be a connecting light bar like the Creta.
Coming to the interior updates of the new Alcazar facelift, it is being reported that it will boast a similar layout as the new Creta. This means that it will get a dual connected screen layout. There will be a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument gauge cluster of the same size.
Apart from these main screens, there will be dual-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, the company will also be offering the new Alcazar facelift with an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree surround camera.
As the new Hyundai Alcazar facelift is a mid-life refresh, it will most likely be offered with the exact same powertrain options as the outgoing model. This means that it will get the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque.
It will come available with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Additionally, a 1.5-litre diesel engine will also be offered. It generates 116 PS and 250 Nm and will come paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
As for the pricing of the newly updated Hyundai Alcazar, it will see a slight bump when compared to the outgoing model. Once launched, it will rival the likes of the Kia Carens, MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Toyota Innova Crysta.
