What’s new?

From the most recent spy shots of the facelifted Hyundai Alcazar, we can note a number of new updates. The most noticeable changes can be noted at the front and rear of the vehicle. This time around, the company has changed the front fascia, and it now features a connecting DRL similar to that of the new Creta.

Apart from this, the grille has also undergone a significant redesign. It will now be getting a horizontal slat pattern. Also, it will be flanked by split LED headlamps. The overall front end will look like the Creta but will be differentiated by a new bumper.

It has also been noted that this time around, the front bumper will integrate a radar sensor for the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). As for the side profile, the Alcazar will remain largely similar to its predecessor.

However, it will now be getting a set of new alloy wheels and updated body cladding that enhance its sporty appeal. Apart from these changes, minor updates have been made to the door panels.

The blacked-out pillars and conventional door handles maintain a familiar yet refreshed look. As for the rear of the SUV, it sees an entirely new tailgate design and updated tail lamps. These now feature a dynamic mix of vertical and horizontal lighting elements and will also get a connecting light bar like the Creta.

Interior Updates

Moving on to the cabin of the facelifted Alcazar, its dashboard will be redesigned to integrate the dual-screen setup as seen in the Creta. Additionally, updates to the upholstery and interior theme options are also anticipated.

The new model will include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, coupled with a digital instrument gauge cluster. Other features will include dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree surround camera.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

This time around, the main highlight of the new Alcazar will be the inclusion of ADAS. Borrowed from the new Creta, the ADAS suite includes a total of 19 Level 2 features aimed at enhancing driver safety and convenience.

These features will include forward collision warning and avoidance assist, blind spot collision warning and avoidance assist, and lane keep assist. It will also get driver attention warning, lane following assist, leading vehicle departure alert, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, surround view monitor, and blind spot view monitor.

Powertrain

Mechanically, the new Hyundai Alcazar facelift will continue to offer the same powertrain options as the outgoing model. The SUV will still come powered by the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque.

It will come available with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Additionally, a 1.5-litre diesel engine will also be offered. It generates 116 PS and 250 Nm and will come paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing and Competition

The updated Hyundai Alcazar will see a slight bump in the pricing compared to the outgoing model. As for the competition, once launched, it will compete with other three-row SUVs in the Indian market, including the Kia Carens, MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Toyota Innova Crysta.
