Hyundai has started commencing deliveries of the new Creta Electric in India. In a recent video shared on the channel Adi Zone, we get to see a user/ ownership review of the Creta EV. The owner explains what made him buy the electric Creta and what he feels about it after using it for a couple of weeks.

He also owns a 2018 Hyundai Creta petrol, Mercedes Benz and a Punch.EV. Brand loyalty is one of the reasons that has made the family invest in Creta Electric. It hasn't been long since the car got delivered. Thus these impressions cannot be considered as too in-depth or authoritative. However, the owner seems to be happy with his new car.

The Creta EV is his second electric car. But this owner is still a fan of engines. He thinks that EVs (that he's owned) aren't as fun to drive as the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) cars in his garage.

He also says that he likes the way ICE cars brake more than how EVs do. He finds the brake response on electric vehicles to be slightly slower than what's offered on the ICE counterparts. He seems to be not a fan of regenerative braking, which can sometimes get intrusive.

Other than this, he is satisfied and happy with almost all other aspects like the suspension, visibility, ergonomics, and even the illumination offered by the LED headlamps.

This Creta Electric owner isn't worried about the resale value either. Electric vehicles usually offer less resale value than ICE vehicles. This owner has the habit of keeping his cars for the maximum possible time. He is not someone who would change his cars every 2-3 years. A Honda City, one of his previous cars was with him for almost 14 years. He says he has no intention to sell the Creta EV anytime soon.

Hyundai launched the Creta Electric in India in January 2025. The starting price (introductory) is 17.99 lakh. The EV is based on an electrified platform of the regular Creta. The electric SUV comes in five variants: Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium and Excellence. Two battery packs are available- 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The former has an ARAI range of 390 km per charge while the latter would offer 473 km per charge.

The Long-Range version does the 0-100 kph run in just 7.9 seconds. For reference, the Creta N Line takes 8.9 seconds for the same. The Creta Electric gets a single motor setup that powers the front wheels. The Long Range variant produces 171 hp and 255 Nm. The smaller battery version makes 135 hp.

The Long Range version takes 58 minutes to charge the battery pack from 10 to 80 percent over a DC fast charger. 10 to 100 percent rejuicing will take 4.5 hours over an 11kW AC home charger.

Design, Interior And Features

The design draws heavily from that of the petrol/diesel Creta. Several cues are shared. However, EV-specific bits include a sealed-off grille, different wheels, and Active Air Flaps.

Inside, the layout is clean and minimalistic. The feature list includes twin 10.25-inch screens, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, dual-zone AC, shift-by-wire stalk, drive modes, electronic parking brake and auto-dimming IRVM.

Hyundai's 'H' on the steering wheel is not present in the EV. Instead you see 'H' embossed in Morse Code.

The safety kit includes six airbags, 360-degree cameras, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and hill-start, descent assist and Level 2 ADAS.
