Hyundai launched the first mass-segment electric SUV in the Indian market on the first day of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo yesterday. The Hyundai Creta Electric has been launched at a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The Hyundai Creta Electric will rival upcoming EVs like the Maruti eVitara and Tata Curvv.ev. Hyundai has now released an official TVC for the all-new Creta Electric.

The video has been shared by Hyundai India on their YouTube channel. It highlights the benefits and advantages of owning an electric vehicle. In the video, a child narrates her experience with the Hyundai Creta Electric after her father took her for a drive. The video emphasizes the super-silent cabin, premium interiors, features, and driving range.

The Hyundai Creta Electric is essentially an electric version of Hyundai’s popular SUV. It is based on the same platform and is not a ground-up SUV. The exterior design is similar to the regular Creta, with EV-specific changes. For instance, the SUV features a closed front grille with connecting LED DRLs.

The headlamps are positioned on the bumper, and the lower grille features pixelated design elements. Additionally, it includes an active air flap that opens and closes automatically to cool the motor. The SUV is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels featuring aerodynamic design elements. The charging port is integrated behind the Hyundai logo on the front grille.

The Hyundai Creta Electric retains a premium-looking cabin. The SUV comes with 8-way electrically adjustable front seats with a memory function for the driver’s seat. It also includes Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, seat ventilation, a curvilinear display with twin 10.25-inch screens on the dashboard, dual-zone climate control with a driver-only mode, a stalk-type shift-by-wire gear selector behind the steering wheel, multi-mode regenerative braking, disc brakes on all four wheels, a floating-type center console, ambient lighting, drive modes, and more.

The SUV is available with two battery pack options: a 42 kWh battery pack and a larger 51.4 kWh battery pack. There are Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium, and Excellence variants on offer. The 42 kWh battery version is available in Executive, Smart, Smart (O), and Premium variants, while the larger 51.4 kWh version is offered only in the Smart (O) and Excellence variants.

The 42 kWh battery pack version generates 135 PS and offers a claimed range of 390 km. The larger battery version, on the other hand, generates 171 PS and offers a claimed range of 473 km. The SUV comes with an 11 kWh home charger and supports DC fast charging as well.

The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 8 seconds, making it the fastest Creta to date. The Creta Electric is only available with a front-wheel-drive option. A detailed review of the new Hyundai Creta is available on our YouTube channel. To watch the video, click here.
