Hyundai Creta EV Launch Timeline Confirmed

The South Korean automotive giant Hyundai India has finally revealed the launch time for its highly anticipated electric SUV, the Creta EV. Recently, Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India, confirmed that the Creta EV will officially make its debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Auto Expo, which will be held in January. The debut of the Creta EV will clash with the debut of Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara.
Over the last few months, a number of test mules of the Creta EV have been spotted testing on Indian roads. These spy images have given us a lot of hints about exactly how the Creta EV will look once it’s launched in India next year.
First off, let’s start with the exterior design details. From the various images of the test mules of this upcoming EV SUV, it can be noted that, to save on costs, the company will offer it with the exact same overall design as the latest generation Creta, which was launched earlier this year.
However, it should also be noted that the company will give the Creta EV a number of EV-specific design details. At the front, there will be a closed-off grille and a brand-new front bumper. Apart from this, on the side profile, there will be unique aero-blade-style alloy wheels. Lastly, the rear will also get a newly designed bumper.
Moving on to the interior, the Creta EV will come equipped with the same dashboard layout as the present model. The main highlight will be the connected 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and digital instrument gauge cluster. Additionally, the SUV will get a brand-new three-spoke steering wheel.
There will also be creature comfort features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and powered front seats. Other features will include a BOSE premium audio system and keyless entry with a push-start button.
As for the safety features, like the current generation Creta, the EV model will also come equipped with a ton of active and passive safety features. These will include six airbags as standard, Level 2 ADAS, ABS with EBD, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
Presently, Hyundai has not revealed any details about the Creta EV’s powertrain. However, it is expected to be offered with a 50-60 kWh battery pack, which could offer a maximum range of 400 km per charge. Additionally, there will be a number of different electric motors and configurations to choose from.
It is expected that the new Hyundai Creta EV will be launched with a starting price tag of Rs 20 lakh. This will place it in direct competition with the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, which will also be showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Auto Expo. It will additionally rival the Tata Harrier EV in India. Lastly, the BYD Atto 3 will be another competitor.
