All-New Hyundai Creta’s Hybrid Version: Launch Timeline Revealed

The Creta mid-size SUV from Hyundai Motor India is the most popular model that the company offers in India. The second-generation facelift model of the Creta was launched last year in January, and now it has been reported that the company has already started working on the development of the third-generation model. Codenamed SX3, the new third-generation Creta will reportedly be launched by 2027.
The SX3, or next-generation Creta, will get a complete exterior and interior makeover. Last year, the company gave the Creta a heavy facelift. However, it is still based on the second-generation model. As per reports, the upcoming Creta will be launched in 2027 and will be produced at Hyundai’s manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.
The main highlight of the upcoming Creta, apart from its new design, will be the addition of a strong hybrid powertrain. Hyundai currently does not offer any strong hybrid models in India, and the Creta could be the first one to receive a hybrid powertrain. Most likely, it will be the same 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine, which will make 141 bhp and 265 Nm of torque and will be seen on the Kia Seltos new generation.
Apart from this hybrid drivetrain, Hyundai is expected to keep the existing engine options. These include the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 115 bhp, the 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine that makes 160 bhp, and the 1.5-litre diesel, which produces 116 bhp. All the transmission options will also be carried over.
The South Korean automotive company also recently launched its first mass-market EV SUV, the Creta Electric, in India. As per reports, in 2027, while the ICE model will get a complete generation change, the Creta Electric will be getting a heavy facelift. It will get an updated exterior and interior and a few more feature additions.
The Hyundai Creta, as mentioned, is the most popular SUV sold by Hyundai in India. It also managed to retain the top spot on the best-selling mid-size SUVs list for a very long time. Last January was the best-ever sales month for the Creta in the last six months.
Hyundai managed to dispatch a total of 18,522 units in January of last year. Prior to this, the second-best-selling month for the Creta in the last six months was October during the Diwali festive season, when a total of 17,497 units of the Creta were sold. Most likely, with the launch of the new SX3 or third-generation Creta, its sales will also increase.
The Hyundai Creta, according to a lot of experts and buyers, is a complete package. It comes in numerous variants, and it also has a ton of engine options to choose from. Additionally, Hyundai has left no stone unturned when it comes to offering features and technology.
As a result, when people think of buying a mid-size SUV, the first name that jumps into their mind is the Hyundai Creta. Currently, the Hyundai Creta starts at Rs 11.11 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 20.42 lakh. As for the newly launched Creta Electric, it starts at Rs 17.99 lakh, and the top model price goes up to Rs 23.50 lakh.
