During the conversation, Tarun also confirmed that they plan to enhance the charging infrastructure and introduce three new BEVs to the Indian market. What could be the upcoming EVs? Here's a list:

Inster EV

Hyundai’s upcoming EV will be based on the Inster EV, and it is currently known by the internal name HE1i. The upcoming EV will be a micro SUV, which will compete with the likes of the Tata Punch.ev. It will use a born-electric car platform based on the global and affordable E-GMP (K).

As per the information currently available, the upcoming EV will be manufactured at Hyundai’s Sriperumbudur factory with localized batteries. The Inster EV is actually based on the Casper, which is an ICE model. The Inster EV measures 3,825 mm in length and is slightly smaller than the Punch.ev or Citroën eC3.

Internationally, the Inster EV is available with two motor and battery pack options. There is a 97 PS and a 115 PS motor option on offer. When it comes to batteries, the EV gets 42 kWh and 49 kWh options. This is actually bigger than the Punch.ev. It remains to be seen if Hyundai will offer the same battery sizes or opt for a smaller battery pack with the upcoming EV. The upcoming EV is expected to launch in 2026.

Venue EV

The Venue is an extremely popular SUV in its segment. Hyundai is planning to launch an electric version of the Venue in the market too. Hyundai is currently working on the next-generation Venue SUV, and the next-generation model is expected to come in both ICE and EV forms. Not much information is available about the Venue EV yet, but it will be inspired by the next-generation ICE model. The SUV will have cosmetic changes to differentiate it from the ICE version.
