Hyundai is all set to launch a special edition of their entry-level SUV, Exter, in the market. The manufacturer recently teased us with an image of the upcoming version of the Exter SUV. From the teaser image, it looks like Hyundai will be launching an all-black version of the Exter, which is likely to be called the Knight Edition. Before the Exter, Hyundai has launched Knight Editions of the Venue and the pre-facelift Creta in the market.

In the teaser that has now surfaced online, we see a small portion of the rear of the Exter SUV, which is finished in black. We see a red accent on the tailgate of the SUV. Apart from the red accent, the Exter is expected to get a blacked-out roof, pillars, and spoiler. The alloy wheels on this SUV will also get a black treatment with red paint on the calipers.

On the tailgate, we also expect to see the Knight Edition badge under the Exter logo. The logos and grille are also expected to get the black treatment. Just like the exterior, the interior of the car would also get the black treatment. We expect to see the red accents on the AC vents and other trims in the cabin of the Exter too.

Other than this, Hyundai might also offer Knight Edition-themed floor mats and other accessories with the Exter. Mechanically, everything is expected to be the same with this SUV. The Hyundai Exter is only available with a petrol engine. The SUV uses a 1.2-liter, naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 81 Bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. The micro SUV is available with both a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox option. The petrol version has a claimed economy of 19.1 kmpl.

Hyundai is also offering a CNG version of the Exter in the market. When compared to the petrol version, the CNG variant generates less power. The CNG version uses the same petrol engine, but it generates 69 Bhp and 95.2 Nm of peak torque. The CNG variant has a claimed efficiency of 27.1 km/kg of CNG. It needs to be seen if the Knight Edition will be offered with the CNG variant or not.

The Hyundai Exter was launched in the market back in 2023. It was launched to compete directly with the likes of Tata Punch in the segment. Due to its premium looks, it attracted a lot of buyers. The Hyundai Exter also received several prestigious awards at India’s Best Design Awards 2023 by Design India. Just like any Hyundai product, the Exter doesn’t disappoint when it comes to features.

The price for a brand new Hyundai Exter starts at Rs 6.13 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes all the way to Rs 10.28 lakh, ex-showroom.
