Hyundai India recently launched a special edition of their entry level micro SUV, the Exter. This new edition is named as Exter Knight Edition and it comes with some interesting bits which we will discuss today.

The car is shown in a walkaround video uploaded by Fuel Injected. The youtuber has titled this video as Mini Creta N Line is here as the Exter Knight Edition features a sporty black and red theme which is similar to the Creta N Line.

First, let’s talk about the pricing and variants. The Exter Knight Edition is available only on the top spec SX and SX (O) Connect trims. The pricing for the SX trim starts at Rs. 8.38 lakh for the manual transmission while the price for the top end SX (O) Connect trim starts at Rs. 9.70 lakh for the manual transmission. Both of these trims can be opted with an automatic transmission as well at an additional cost.

The trim shown in the video is the Exter Knight Edition SX. The host starts with the front fascia of the micro SUV which features a black grille. Additionally, a red strip is added on the skid plate to add to the sportiness. Furthermore, all the badges are changed to gloss black from chrome. The Exter Knight Edition comes loaded with features such as LED DRLs and LED projector headlamps.

The side profile gets 15-inch blacked out steel rims but the wheel caps are deisgned in such a way that they look like alloy wheels. The brake calipers are finished in red which follow the entire theme. The ORVMs come with both electric adjustment and electric folding functionality.

Other highlights in the side profile include blacked out roof rails, blacked out shark fin antenna and a blacked out spoiler. The rear profile gets a red strip and a glossy black center element. Additionally, it comes with basic features such as a defogger, LED taillights, reverse parking camera and sensors. However, rear wiper and washer are missing in this trim.

The Knight Edition theme continues in the interior as well with multiple red accents such as the AC vents surrounds, floor mats with red Exter badging, red stitching on upholstery and red surrounds around the buttons. A disappointing bit is that the front headrests cannot be adjusted.

Some of the key features of the trim include, rear AC vents, steering mounted controls, single pane sunroof, 7-inch infotainment system with wireless connectivity, all four power windows, fabric & leatherette upholstery, digital instrument cluster with glossy black surround and much more. The steering wheel also gets controls for the cruise control. The silver door handles and the silver dashboard element is replaced with black to maintain the theme.

The micro SUV is powered by a 1.2-litre four cylinder Kappa petrol engine that manages to produce about 82 BHP of power and 114 Nm of torque. The regular Exter is also offered with a CNG powertrain which is not available with the Knight Edition. Transmission options include a manual and an AMT.
