Performing stunts using cars or bikes on public road is illegal and dangerous. However, people do it anyway and later get into trouble with the authorities. Most of these stunts are often done for the sake of popularity on social media. Recently, a video of a Hyundai i20 had surfaced online where the driver was seen doing stunts on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. The video went viral and even cops came across the same and took action against the offender. The cops have issued a fine of Rs 55,000 against the vehicle.

The video has been circulating on various social media platforms. In this video, we see a modified previous generation Hyundai i20 Elite hatchback taking a being driven on the wrong side of the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. He was actually doing stunts on the road. We see the i20 with tinted windows doing handbrake turns.

It should be noted that the driver was doing it when there were other vehicles on the road. We can see that the other car drivers on the expressway were careful and were trying to maintain a safe distance from the hatchback. The i20 driver pulled the handbrake hard and turned the car around. In this short video, we can see that the car had almost crashed into the crash barrier on the expressway.

After this, the car driver accelerated and drove the car against the flow of the traffic. The video had gone viral and some of the road users had also shared the same video with police. Anil Kumar Yadav, deputy commissioner of police, traffic said, “We took cognisance of the video that surfaced on social media and issued a fine of ₹55,000 to the car owner for rash driving, faulty number plate, tinted glasses, driving without insurance, and disobedience of any direction lawfully given by the authority under Section 179 (1) of the MV Act 1988.”

The cops went through the video and traced the number of the vehicle. They issued a fine against the hatchback and they are planning to take further actions. They have said that they are currently trying to locate the vehicle and once they do that, the car will be seized.

Not the first time

This is not the First time, we have come across an incident like this. In the past we have reports several instances where social media influencers from Uttar Pradesh have landed in trouble for doing stunts with cars and bikes on public roads. Recently, video of a Mahindra Thar with all black windows and no number plate had gone viral. The Thar driver in the video was seen scaring off people just for views and fun. Cops took a note of this video and slapped a fine of Rs 35,000 against the car owner.

Coming back to the i20 video, the hatchback driver was putting his own life and life of other road users at risk by doing such stunts on a busy expressway. We can see that the i20 was modified with bigger aftermarket alloy wheels and it also had tinted glasses which is again illegal.
