Hyundai Creta Electric, i20 And Alcazar Knight Editions Launched With New Features and Tech Upgrades

Hyundai Motor India has rolled out the Knight Edition versions of the i20 hatchback, Creta Electric SUV and Alcazar three-row SUV. The Knight Edition, first seen on the Creta a few years ago, has proven popular with buyers looking for a factory-fitted blacked-out styling package. With this launch, the company has taken the theme to three different body styles while also adding a handful of new features to the i20 and Alcazar.
The common Knight Edition elements are consistent across the three cars. On the outside, these variants gain gloss black alloy wheels with red brake callipers, dark front and rear skid plates, side sill garnish, roof rails, door mirrors and rear spoiler. Hyundai has replaced the usual chrome logos with matte black badges at the front and rear, while a Knight emblem on the bootlid marks out the edition.
Inside, the cars carry a black interior theme with brass-coloured inserts on the dashboard, air-con vents and gear knob. The seats get matching brass stitching, and a set of sporty metal pedals completes the package. These changes do not affect the engines or gearboxes, which remain identical to the standard versions.
The Creta Electric receives the Knight Edition only in the Excellence trim. Buyers can choose between two battery options: a 42 kWh pack with a certified range of 420 km and a larger 51.4 kWh pack with a certified range of 510 km. The Knight Edition adds a Matte Black paint option, exclusive to this version, alongside the usual palette.
Pricing for the Creta Electric Knight Edition starts at ₹22.81 lakh for the 42 kWh Excellence trim and goes up to ₹23.94 lakh for the 51.4 kWh Excellence variant (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Knight Edition for the i20 is based on the Sportz (O) MT and Asta (O) iVT trims. Both use the familiar 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine producing 83 hp with the manual and 88 hp with the iVT.
Prices for the i20 Knight Edition begin at ₹9.99 lakh for the Sportz (O) MT and extend to ₹11.85 lakh for the Asta (O) iVT (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from the Knight-specific styling, Hyundai has bundled in some useful features. These include a dual-channel dashcam, a sporty rear spoiler and wireless support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on certain trims. The upgrades also apply to the i20 N Line, broadening their appeal among younger buyers.
The Alcazar Knight Edition is offered in the Signature 7-seater variant, paired with two engine choices. The first is the 1.5-litre turbo GDi petrol engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the second is the 1.5-litre diesel with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Both combinations are popular in the top trims of the Alcazar.
Pricing for the Alcazar Knight Edition starts at ₹21.65 lakh for the petrol DCT and tops out at ₹21.99 lakh for the diesel automatic (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Along with the Knight styling, Alcazar Signature buyers now get a dual-channel dashcam as standard. This is the only functional upgrade in addition to the black-themed design cues.
The Knight Edition has steadily built a following since its introduction in 2022. Hyundai claims it has sold more than 77,000 units of Knight-branded variants across models in that period. By extending the line to three more products, the company is hoping to capitalise on that popularity while giving buyers a chance to stand out with a factory-fitted appearance package.
For the i20 and Alcazar, the Knight Editions are accompanied by new features that improve convenience and safety. For the Creta Electric, the Knight Edition launch coincides with the car’s early life in the market, giving buyers more choice right from the start.
What remains unchanged are the engines, gearboxes and core specifications. The Knight Edition is entirely about aesthetics and a few added conveniences, leaving the mechanical package untouched. For buyers, this means no compromise on reliability or performance, only an option to drive something a little different from the mainstream versions.
With prices starting just under ₹10 lakh for the i20 Knight Edition and going up to nearly ₹24 lakh for the Creta Electric Knight Edition, Hyundai has ensured the Knight badge is now available to a broad spectrum of customers, from compact hatchback buyers to EV adopters and family SUV users.
