Hyundai Exter S Smart And SX Smart Variants Launched

The South Korean automotive giant Hyundai Motor India Limited, in order to push the sales of its already popular micro-SUV Exter, has launched two new variants. These variants are Exter S Smart and SX Smart, which start at Rs 7.68 lakh and go up to Rs 9.18 lakh for the Hy-CNG Duo variant. These new mid-range variants extend the Exter lineup, making this micro-SUV more accessible to the buyers.
First off, let's start with the pricing of the newly launched Exter variants. First up is the S Smart MT variant, priced at Rs 7.68 lakh; then there is the SX Smart MT variant, priced at Rs 8.16 lakh. Moving on, there are S Smart AMT and SX Smart AMT variants, priced at Rs 8.39 lakh and Rs 8.83 lakh, respectively.
Hyundai is also offering these new variants with Hy-CNG Duo technology, and the S Smart Hy-CNG Duo and SX Smart Hy-CNG Duo are priced at Rs 8.62 lakh and Rs 9.18 lakh, respectively. As for the powertrain options, the new Exter variants will be offered with the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which in the standard form pushes 83 bhp and 113.6 Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, the same motor with the Hy-CNG Duo technology pushes 69 bhp and 95.2 Nm of torque. Both engines get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the petrol variants are offered with the optional AMT gearbox.
Now, coming to the feature highlights of the new Exter variants. The Hyundai Exter S Smart variant gets an electric sunroof, LED headlights, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, highline tyre pressure monitoring system, rear air conditioning vents, H-shaped LED DRLs, and projector headlights.
As for the SX Smart variant, it will come with a smart key with push-button start and shark fin antenna, projector headlamps, H-shaped LED DRLs, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and the other features of the S Smart variant. The company has priced the optional variant at Rs 14,999.
With this, buyers get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear parking camera, and genuine accessory with a 3-year warranty. In terms of the safety features, the Exter now comes standard with ISOFIX child seat mounts and six airbags across all the variants.
Just a few weeks ago Hyundai also launched the Exter Hy-CNG Duo EX varaint in India. This made the Hy-CNG Duo Exter more affordable in India. It was launched at Rs 7.5 lakh. The Hyundai Exter rivals the micro-SUVs Tata Punch and Citroen C3 in India.
