Hyundai Flagship SUV Wants To Dethrone Toyota Fortuner In India: Palisade Luxury SUV On Video

The Toyota Fortuner is the undisputed leader of the full-size SUV segment in India. Over the years, a number of competitors have arrived in the market, but none could dethrone the Fortuner. Now, the South Korean automotive giant Hyundai is eyeing the Fortuner in India and aims to take it down. The company will be launching the Palisade flagship SUV in India. Recently, a detailed walkaround video of the top-of-the-line Hyundai Palisade was shared online, showcasing all the unique details this SUV has to offer.

The video showing the Hyundai Palisade in detail has been shared on YouTube by Her Garage on their channel. It starts off with the host giving an introduction to the Hyundai Palisade. She mentions that it is the flagship SUV currently on sale from Hyundai and that when it comes to India, it will rival the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Jeep Meridian.

Exterior design

Following the introduction, the vlogger starts showing the exterior design of this SUV, beginning with the front profile. The main highlights of the Hyundai Palisade are its unique LED headlights and DRLs. There are five chunky LED DRLs on either end, which also act as turn indicators. It also features split LED headlights and a connecting DRL in the middle.

As for the grille, the SUV gets a premium-looking design with dark chrome and brushed silver elements. It also comes with a front camera and front parking sensors. Being the top-of-the-line SUV, it is equipped with ADAS Level 2 sensors and cameras as well. Other notable highlights include the brushed silver lower skid plate, which adds to the premium appeal.

Side profile

Following the front end, the vlogger shows the side profile of the Palisade. She highlights that it is a very long SUV and resembles a Range Rover from the side. The top-of-the-line variant gets 21-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the lower variants get 20-inch alloy wheels. Other notable highlights include brushed silver window garnishes and silver roof rails.

Rear end

The rear of the Palisade looks just as premium as the front end. It gets six horizontally slatted LED taillights, a brushed silver Hyundai logo, and Palisade badging. She also mentions that it comes with a camera on the top for the IRVM and a rearview camera with a washer. In addition, the Palisade gets six parking sensors and a brushed silver rear bumper garnish.

Interior

Following the exterior walkaround, the host then shows the interior of this SUV. The Palisade has a very clean and simple dashboard layout. However, it still comes with all the bells and whistles. Its list of features includes twin connected screens, ventilated front seats, a UV light-equipped handrest for sanitization, powered front seats with a massage function for the driver, a BOSE premium audio system, and dual sunroofs.

The SUV in the video is the six seater version. In the middle it gets two captains seats. It also gets electronically foldable third row seats as well.

Engine

Powering the Hyundai Palisade is a 2.5-litre turbo petrol plus hybrid system-equipped motor. It is capable of producing 329 bhp and 460 Nm of torque. At the moment, Hyundai has not revealed the exact launch date for the Palisade. It is believed that it will be brought via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route and could be priced around Rs 65 lakh.
