General Motors India left the Indian market back in 2017; however, they kept the facility running till 2020 for export models. It is located in Talegaon, Phase II Expansion, Maval Tehsil, in Pune district.

This massive plant spans over 300 acres, and back when General Motors was in India, it had a capacity of producing 1,60,000 engines and 1,30,000 vehicles annually. Presently, Hyundai is spending a whopping Rs 6,000 crore to upgrade, modernize, and retool the Talegaon manufacturing facility to enhance production capacity.

Production of Hyundai engines in this facility started on June 16 this year. However, vehicle production will commence in late 2025. As mentioned, the first vehicle that will be produced in this new facility will be the second-generation Venue. The test mules of this vehicle have been spotted testing across the region for a while now.

Most likely, the digital instrument gauge cluster and central touchscreen infotainment system will measure 10.25 inches each. It is also expected to get a new and more interactive UI.
