The South Korean automotive giant Hyundai India has recently confirmed the launch timelines for its two popular products. These will be the Hyundai Venue sub-compact SUV and Grand i10 Nios. Apart from the confirmation of the launch timelines, the brand is gearing up for the launch of its IPO as well. Recently, it has also launched its micro-SUV Exter’s Knight Edition.

Launch Timelines of Next-Gen Hyundai Venue

Starting off with the launch timeline details of the next-generation Hyundai Venue, it has been confirmed that this popular sub-compact SUV’s new-gen model is set to make its debut by late 2025. This SUV was originally launched in 2019.

Following this, it received a refresh with a facelift in June 2022. Ever since then, the Venue has been a popular choice among sub-compact SUV buyers in the country. The upcoming model has been internally codenamed as QU2i.

It will be the first to roll out from Hyundai’s newly acquired Talegaon factory, which was previously owned by General Motors. As per the reports, the production of the new Venue is scheduled to commence in October 2025.

The new Venue is expected to retain its existing platform and powertrain options. As for the changes, it is expected to feature a completely new design inspired by the brand’s latest SUVs like the Creta and Alcazar. It could also get more features and a continued presence in the diesel segment.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios New Generation Launch Timeline

Coming to the details of the next-generation Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, it has been reported that internally as Ai4, it is expected to launch by late 2027. The current second-generation model was introduced back in 2019 and was then updated in 2023.

Till the launch of the new generation model in 2027, the company is expected to offer minor updates to keep this popular hatchback competitive. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios currently rivals the Maruti Suzuki Swift, which reclaimed the top sales spot in May 2024.

Hyundai’s Future Plans

Apart from the next-gen Venue and Grand i10 Nios, Hyundai is working on introducing a Bayon-based crossover and an Inster-based EV. The Inster EV, as per the reports, is set to arrive by late 2026. This new EV will take on the Tata Punch EV in the country and target the mass-market EV segment.

Additionally, Hyundai is also exploring the possibility of launching the electric versions of the Grand i10 Nios and Venue. These models will compete with the Tata Tiago EV and Nexon EV, respectively. It has to be noted that these projects are still in the exploration phase.

Recently, Hyundai India has also pledged Rs 33,000 crore over the next decade to increase production capacity to 1.5 million vehicles. This includes the introduction of the first localized EV based on the Creta within a year. Hyundai has also partnered with Exide Industries to localize battery cell production.

Hyundai’s IPO is Coming

Apart from the new models, the South Korean automaker is also preparing for its massive initial public offering (IPO). This IPO is expected to be valued between $22-28 billion. The company is planning to file a draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI.

Potentially, its IPO could be launched around September or October of this year. With this IPO, Hyundai aims to raise between $3.3-5.6 billion by offering a 15-20% stake.

This will make it the first automaker IPO in India in 20 years, since Maruti Suzuki’s in 2003. Hyundai managed to record its best-ever domestic sales of 6.02 lakh vehicles in 2023. It also reported a 10% increase in imports.
