In India, when we buy a new vehicle, we consider it a part of our family and welcome it into our families by performing proper rituals. We have seen both rich and middle-class people do this in the past. It is not just the case with people who live in India. Many Indians who live abroad also follow such traditions. Here we have a video of an Indian who recently bought a light aircraft and performed elaborate pooja rituals. The video of the ritual has gone viral on the internet.

The video has been shared by Mudit Anand on his Instagram page. The social media user is living abroad and, like many Indians, he is also working hard to achieve his dreams. One of his dreams was to own an aircraft. It was one of his life goals, and he turned this dream into a reality. The video shows the owner of the aircraft performing elaborate pooja rituals in front of the aircraft.

He breaks a coconut in front of the plane, which was parked in front of the hangar. After this, he picks up a plate with a diya or lamp in it. The owner then draws a swastika symbol on the nose of the aircraft. He does the same inside the cabin too. We also see a lemon in front of the wheels of the aircraft. The swastika is considered a symbol of prosperity and good fortune in Hinduism.

Once the pooja rituals are done, the owner starts the aircraft and takes it for a short flight. The video gives us a glimpse of the cabin and the view from the sky. The aircraft seen here is a Piper Cherokee 140. It is a family of 2 and 4-seater light aircraft built by Piper Aircraft. This aircraft is designed for flight training, air taxi, and personal use.

This is a single propeller lightweight aircraft. The Cherokee 140 was launched in 1964. It was initially designed for training and came with only 2 seats. The engine on this aircraft generates 150 Ps. Later in 1971, a 4-seater version of the same aircraft was also launched.

The exact cost of the Piper Cherokee 140 is not known. However, when we looked online, the average price of a used Piper Cherokee 140 was around 57 lakh INR. The aircraft seen here in the video is a used one, and we do not know the price that the customer paid for this particular aircraft.

Poojar rituals for airplane

Not The First Time

This is not the first time we have seen such a ritual. Last year in India, a businessman from Hyderabad took his newly bought Airbus ACH-135 helicopter to a temple to perform rituals. Other than this, we have also seen owners perform elaborate pooja rituals for their supercars.

Last year, a brand new Lamborghini Huracan STO was delivered to its customer in Bengaluru, where an elaborate pooja and ritual was carried out before delivery. Similarly, a brand new Bentley Bentayga luxury SUV worth Rs 5 crore was also given a similar treatment after it was driven to a temple after delivery.
