Jaguar Type 00 EV Concept Will Come To India In June
Last year, the British luxury carmaker Jaguar had an extensive brand identity revamp. At the same time, the company also announced the global debut of its first concept car under its new brand and design philosophy – Type 00 EV Concept. Since then, this concept vehicle has been taken to many countries and cities for its debut, and now it has been revealed that it will soon be coming to India as well. As per Jaguar, the Type 00 Concept will be showcased in India on June 14.
Jaguar Type 00 Concept India Unveiling
As mentioned, the global debut of the Jaguar Type 00 EV Concept took place in December of last year in Miami, United States of America. Following this, its worldwide promotional tour commenced, and it was then taken to Paris earlier this year for its European debut. It then went to Monaco, and before coming to India on June 14, it will be making its debut in Munich, Germany, and Tokyo, Japan.
Why is Jaguar bringing the Type 00 EV Concept to India?
As we all are aware, Jaguar and Land Rover are both owned by Tata Motors. So, it makes sense for the brand to showcase its new product in India, which is now becoming a big hub for luxury car sales. This new vehicle is also being brought to India to gauge the interest of EV and luxury car buyers in the country. Its debut is also significant because this concept car showcases the new design and brand philosophy of the brand.
When will this model go into production?
It has to be mentioned that the Jaguar Type 00 EV Concept, which is a grand touring vehicle, has not been confirmed for production. However, the company has confirmed that a four-door vehicle based on this concept will be launched in the near future. This upcoming production model will take its design inspiration and premium electric architecture from the concept car.
As per the reports, this Type 00 EV Concept-based four-door vehicle is expected to provide a range of 770 km (WLTP range) on a single full charge. With this new vehicle, Jaguar aims to take on rivals like the American electric vehicle manufacturing giant Tesla’s Model S Plaid, Porsche Taycan, and Lucid Air.

Coming back to the details of the Jaguar Type 00 EV Concept, this futuristic-looking premium grand tourer concept boasts a very long bonnet, rear-set passenger compartment, and a fastback-style roofline. It also gets a very clean fascia with extremely sleek LED headlights. It also features a brand-new blanked-off grille design with the new Jaguar lettering/logo.
On the side profile, this concept vehicle gets massive aerodynamic alloy wheels, which are finished in golden and black dual-tone colors. Another major highlight of the side profile is the addition of cameras instead of traditional ORVMs. The charging port is also positioned on the front left fender. At the rear, the same blanked-off grille design as the front has been retained.
Being a concept vehicle, the interior of this concept is very simple yet futuristic. It does not get any screen or buttons, and there is not even a traditional instrument gauge cluster. Rather, there is only a flat top-and-bottom steering wheel. The entire interior is finished in a classy shade of white accented by wood elements.
