Jeep Compass And Meridian: Rs. 2.5 Lakh Discount On Offer

The Jeep brand has now completed 8 years in the Indian car market, and the Compass – its first model for India – has also turned 8. To celebrate this, Jeep India is now offering a whopping Rs. 2.5 lakh discount on the SUV. The Meridian, essentially a 7 seat version of the Compass, also gets a big discount of Rs. 2 lakh. This offer lasts until the 31st of August 2024.

The Jeep Compass is easily one of the best built mid-sized SUVs in the 25-40 lakh rupee price range. Jeep now offers the Compass with only the 2 liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine. With 172 Bhp and 350 Nm on tap, this engine is a punchy performer and is quite fuel efficient as well. It also is offered on Indian SUVs such as the Tata Harrier and Safari.

The sturdy Compass is offered with front wheel drive and four wheel drive options. Transmission choices include a 6 speed manual and an 8 speed torque converter automatic, which while being a smooth shifting unit doesn’t really like to be hurried. The engines and gearboxes of the Meridian are the same as those on the Compass but produce 4 Bhp less on the Meridian. The torque numbers are unchanged though.

The only key difference between both SUVs is the size. The Meridian is larger, and can accommodate 2 more adults while the Compass is strictly a five seater. In fact, we think that the Compass is in its absolute element with four well built adults on board, and is quite an enjoyable place to be in.

Ride and handling are on point. There’s plenty of power on offer, and finally, this is a SUV that can actually take one to hard-to-reach places thanks to the effective all wheel drive system. The Meridian does all of this with the ability to fit in extra people. While prices of the Jeep Compass start from Rs. 18.99 lakh , those of the Meridian start from Rs. 31.23 lakh, both figures ex-showroom Delhi.
