MG Windsor Pro Bookings Open!

JSW MG Motor India launched the Windsor Pro on Tuesday with an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The Pro sits at the top of the Windsor lineup as the better-equipped variant that promises a significantly higher range than the regular Windsor EV. The carmaker has now started accepting bookings for the Windsor Pro.
You can now book the Windsor Pro by paying a sum of Rs 11,000. The introductory price is valid for only the first 8000 bookings. If you're planning to buy one, now would be the right time to make the reservations. MG India offers a Battery As A Service (BaaS) program on the Windsor Pro as well. This would allow you to take home the Windsor Pro by paying just Rs 12.49 lakh and a battery rent of Rs 4.5 per kilometer driven.
The Windsor Pro competes with the likes of the Tata Curvv. EV 55 and the long range Hyundai Creta EV in the Indian market. It packs enough to put up a strong fight.
The biggest upgrade in the Windsor Pro is its new 52.9 kWh battery pack, which replaces the smaller 38 kWh unit found in the standard version. Thanks to this change, the new vehicle offers a notably higher claimed range of 449 kilometres per charge. This makes it a much better option for long drives and highway cruising, especially for those who want a worry-free electric experience.
Fitting the larger battery pack in, has affected the usable boot space marginally. The regular EV offers 604 liters while the Pro has the same reduced to 579L. The revision isn't big enough to be a deal breaker.
The Windsor Pro is only offered on the range-topping Essence trim. MG has reserved the larger battery exclusively for this top variant, which makes sense given the growing demand for longer-range electric vehicles in India. The electric motor has, however, had no upgrade, and continues to produce the same 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, as the standard Windsor.
To help it stand apart, MG has introduced three exclusive new exterior colours on the Windsor Pro: Glaze Red, Aurora Silver, and Celadon Blue.
The interior has undergone a stylish transformation as well. The earlier all-black layout has been replaced with a new dual-tone Ivory colour scheme, which is brighter and feels more inviting. The cabin also features faux wood trim and copper accents for increased visual appeal.
MG has equipped the Windsor Pro with several new and advanced features. It comes with the likes of a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, panoramic glass roof, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging bay, automatic climate control, cruise control, a powered tailgate, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat digital instrument cluster, 9-speaker Infinity sound system, 256-colour ambient lighting and level 2 ADAS.
It also features seats that can recline up to 135 degrees. MG calls this the 'Aero Lounge' experience. You get these on the regular Windsor as well.
The Windsor Pro also comes with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging support. The ADAS suite includes functions like Traffic Jam Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping Functions, Bend Cruise Assistance, and Forward Collision Warning. It also comes with It also has Automatic Emergency Braking, Hydraulic Brake Assist, and Intelligent Headlamp Control.
Further enhancing its safety, the Windsor Pro comes with six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start and descent assistance, and disc brakes on all four wheels. It also gets features like electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring system, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
