Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s Kia Carnival Damaged In Multi Car Crash After Woman On Scooter Turns Abruptly (Video)
The Chief Minister of Kerala’s convoy was recently involved in a multi-car crash with him inside his Kia Carnival. A video showing exactly how this incident took place in Thiruvananthapuram has been shared online. It has been noted that the main reason behind CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s convoy crashing into each other was that a female scooter rider made an abrupt right turn on the same main road. An investigation has been launched against this female rider for causing such a huge crash.
Kerala’s CM’s Convoy Crash
This video showing Kerala CM’s convoy crash has been shared on Instagram by NDTV. From the video, we can note that it was a normal busy road in Vamanapuram in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, where this incident took place. There were several cars in the left lane of the road, along with a few two-wheelers.
What happens next is that there were two two-wheelers trying to turn right. Of these, the first was a female rider on a scooter wearing a blue dress. We can observe that this particular scooter rider makes an abrupt turn, and the two-wheeler with a couple behind her stops in the middle of the road due to the incoming cars of the CM.
So, after this, the first two Mahindra Boleros driving at the front of the convoy had to apply the brakes in a hurry to avoid hitting these two-wheeler riders. Unfortunately, because of this abrupt braking, a black Innova Crysta, which was following the lead of the Boleros, crashed into the second SUV in the rear.
After this, Pinarayi Vijayan’s black Kia Carnival also crashed into the Crysta. Following this, all the cars, including another Innova Crysta and two more white Mahindra Boleros, along with an ambulance, crashed and formed a pileup of cars. Thankfully, the last vehicle in the convoy managed to change lanes on time and avoided the crash.
What Happens Next?
The CCTV footage then shows that after the crash, the first Bolero immediately drives ahead and does not stop. Meanwhile, the second Bolero, belonging to the police authorities, drives ahead and gets parked on the side of the road. Following this, the Innova Crysta also gets parked on the side of the road, and all the security personnel rush towards the CM’s Kia Carnival.
After assessing the damages, it can be noted that the CM’s Carnival was not as badly damaged. Due to this, his vehicle was allowed to continue the journey to the state capital. Also, we can note that the remaining Innova Crysta and Mahindra Boleros were stopped on the road for a while before getting parked on the side.
Is Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Okay?
As per the reports, CM Pinarayi Vijayan did not suffer any injuries, as the crash of his Kia Carnival was minor. The video shows that all the medical staff immediately rushed to check the condition of the CM.
Investigation on the Female Scooter Rider
It has also been reported that the police authorities have launched an investigation into the female two-wheeler rider. As noted in the video, she made an abrupt right turn, which caused this chain reaction of cars crashing. The police authorities are reviewing this incident to ensure that a similar incident does not take place in the future.
