As the dates of the Auto Expo approach, we have information on the upcoming Kia cars and SUVs in India, and which of of those are to be expected at the Expo. The Korean carmaker will launch both EV and ICE models. Here are 6 such Kia cars to wait for:

Kia Syros

Kia recently revealed the Syros compact SUV for the Indian market. In its domestic portfolio, the Syros will sit between the Sonet and the Seltos. Kia India will showcase the Syros at the expo and will launch it in India on February 1, 2025. The Syros comes with an interesting tallboy design and gets LED lighting, a tall stance, flush-type door handles, and more.

The equipment list on the Syros includes a panoramic sunroof, 360 camera, level 2 ADAS, rear seat recline and slide functions, 64-color ambient lighting, four ventilated seats etc. The vehicle also gets a massive Trinity screen cluster comprising two 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation along with a third climate control display.

The Syros would offer two powertrain choices- a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol (tGDi) petrol and a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel. Both a manual and an automatic transmissions will be offered.

Bookings for the Syros are already open and you can reserve yours by paying ₹25,000. We expect deliveries to start by mid-February. Though there is no clear clue on it yet, the Syros is expected to bridge the price gap between the Sonet and the Seltos.

Kia EV6 Facelift

Kia will launch the EV6 facelift later this year. The vehicle was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo. The new EV6 made its global premiere in May last year and gets more range and features when compared to its predecessor. The new EV6 will get a revised front fascia, new wheels, and a bunch of interior updates and revised feature list.

The facelifted electric SUV could come with a larger 84kWh battery pack which will be able to deliver a claimed range of 494 kilometres. The new EV6 is expected to be available in both RWD and AWD forms. The dual-motor version could produce 325 hp and 605 Nm.

Kia Carens Facelift

Kia calls the Carens ‘Recreational Utility Vehicle’ (RUV). It was first launched in India in 2022. Now the manufacturer is readying a notable update/ mid-life facelift to it. The facelifted Carens could debut in mid-2025, and has been spotted on test several times in the past. The expected changes are a new set of headlamps, new wheels, refreshed LED tail lamps, connected LED DRLs and a revised front bumper.

On the inside, it could gain more features like a 360-degree parking camera and level 2 ADAS. The powertrains are likely to remain unchanged and the new Carens could do with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre tGDi petrol and 1.5-litre CDRi diesel engines.

Carens EV

Kia is also known to be readying an EV based on the Carens. Test mules of the same have been spied multiple times in the country. It could use the same powertrain and underpinnings as the Creta Electric. This means that the Carens could use 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs, and come with identical claimed range as the Hyundai Creta EV.

Syros EV

Kia might launch an EV based on the Syros sooner than you think it would. Expected to be out by 2026, this would be priced affordably. Built on the same K1 platform as the ICE Syros, it could feature two battery packs- 42 kWh and 49 kWh- just like the upcoming Hyundai Inster EV. We will get to know more details of the Syros EV closer to its launch.

Seltos Hybrid

The Seltos was Kia India’s first product and a runaway hit. The SUV continues to be in huge acceptance even today. KIA is now readying a generational update to the SUV. The second-generation Seltos will have major styling changes. Spy shots suggest that the new design could draw heavily from the Telluride.

Kia could introduce a strong hybrid petrol engine on the second-generation Seltos. It will likely have a hybrid 1.6 liter petrol engine that produces 141 Bhp-265 Nm. Whether or not Kia will continue to offer the 1.5 diesel and 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol engines remains to be seen. As is the case with the current Seltos, the new generation will also offer the choice of manual and automatic gearboxes. India launch is likely to happen in early 2026.
