First off, Kia India is gearing up for the launch of the Carens facelift. This time around, the Carens will get a brand-new front fascia, which will include a new and more premium-looking split headlamp design. The upper portion will feature sleek LED DRLs, which will be connected in the middle by an LED strip. The main headlight units will be set just below the DRLs.

It will also get an updated front bumper with silver garnishes, adding to the premium feel. Moving on to the side profile, the company will not be making any significant changes to the silhouette of the Carens. However, it will definitely get more chrome details and a set of new alloy wheels.

As for the rear, it will get new boxy-looking C-shaped LED taillights with a connecting bar in the middle. Expect to see a new rear bumper with a silver skid plate. Overall, the new Kia Carens facelift will get the same design cues that the new Seltos and Sonet have received with their respective facelifts.

On the inside, the Carens is expected to retain the same interior layout. It will also get the same 10.25-inch infotainment system and premium BOSE audio system. However, in addition to these, it will also get some new features. These will include ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting.

Other features will include ADAS Level 2 with functionalities like emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, collision warning alerts, and others. The Carens facelift will also be getting a 360-degree camera and a tire pressure monitoring system.

In terms of the powertrain, the company will not be making any changes. It will continue to get the same 115 PS-producing 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, 160 PS 1.5-liter turbo petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel engine making 116 PS. As for transmission options, it will come with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed IMT, 6-speed torque converter, and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

It is expected that the Carens facelift will be launched in the first half of 2025. As for pricing, it will command a premium over the current model, which starts at Rs 10.52 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 19.94 lakh.

Following the launch of the Carens facelift, Kia, in the second half of 2025, will launch the electric version of the Carens. The upcoming Carens EV will boast a design similar to the facelifted model. However, there will be some EV-specific design changes to differentiate it from the ICE model.

At the moment, not much is known about the Carens EV. However, it is being reported that it will come equipped with the same electric powertrain as the Hyundai Creta EV. Both of these models are expected to get a 45 kWh battery pack, which could offer them a range of 400 km on a single full charge.
