Kia Carens Crosses 2 Lakh Sales Mark: Facelift Coming Soon

The Kia Carens is one of the most popular MUVs in the South Korean brand’s Indian lineup. It has been in the market for the last couple of years. Kia has now announced that this popular MUV has crossed the 2 lakh sales mark. The company has managed to achieve this feat in just 36 months since its initial launch. Kia’s family mover has emerged as one of the fastest-selling vehicles in its category.

The Kia Carens has appealed to customers because of its premium looks, spacious cabin, comfort, features, and style. Kia said that the top-end variant of the Carens accounts for 24 percent of its total sales. Features such as a sunroof, multi-drive modes, ventilated seats, Kia Connect, and more have made these variants popular among customers.

Apart from features, Kia also offers a variety of engine and transmission options. It comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. In terms of powertrain preferences, the petrol variant leads with 58% of sales, followed by diesel at 42%.

With 32% of customers opting for automatic and iMT transmissions, the ease of driving and convenience of both options are evident. Additionally, 28% of buyers chose variants with a sunroof, while 95% of total sales came from the 7-seater models, making it a true family car. Kia has also exported 24,064 units to over 70 countries.

2025 Kia Carens

As mentioned above, the Carens has been in the market for almost 36 months, and a mid-life cycle update is due. In fact, the test mule of the upcoming 2025 facelifted Kia Carens has been spotted multiple times. The MUV will receive several cosmetic changes along with feature updates.

According to online reports, the Carens facelift will get a revised front end. It will come with a redesigned grille, updated headlamps, new alloy wheels, LED tail lamps with a connecting LED bar, and more. In terms of features, Kia will offer a 360-degree camera along with Level 2 ADAS. The cabin design is likely to remain the same, with minor changes to the theme.

Kia might introduce a different shade for the upholstery and panels if needed. The MUV will continue to be powered by the same set of petrol and diesel engines. Kia is expected to launch the Carens facelift in the second half of 2025. Additionally, Kia is working on an electric version of the Carens, which is expected to be based on the facelifted version. The Carens EV is likely to be launched after the ICE version.
