South Korean car manufacturer Kia recently teased us with a video of their upcoming electric MPV, Carens Clavis EV. Kia has been working on this electric vehicle for quite some time, and the official launch of the EV will happen on July 15 this year. Just before the launch of the Carens Clavis EV, Kia has taken a major step towards advancing electric mobility in the country by developing a robust and integrated EV ecosystem for its customers.

Kia has developed the K-Charge platform, which will be seamlessly integrated with the MyKia app. With the K-Charge platform, customers can access the fast-growing network of over 11,000 charging points across India. Kia has collaborated with 18 leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to offer a better experience to its customers.

This network consists of both urban and highway routes, which means it is useful for both city and highway commutes. Apart from the K-Charge, Kia is also offering an 'EV Route Planner'. This can be accessed via the website or the MyKia app. It helps customers locate charging stations, view real-time slot availability, and make payments directly through the app. This improves the overall charging experience and eliminates the need for a third-party app.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “Our focus has always been on delivering innovation that makes a real difference. With our comprehensive EV ecosystem now in place, we are empowering customers to experience electric mobility with ease and confidence. This strong foundation allows us to support the next wave of EV adoption across the country, making electric driving practical, reliable, and accessible for all. We are confident that this will not only enhance the ownership journey but also strengthen our leadership in the fast-changing mobility space.”

In addition to offering support through the mobile application, Kia has also strengthened the ecosystem with a dedicated network of over 250 EV-ready Kia workshops across India, equipped with specialized tools, equipment, and trained EV technicians.

More than 100 Kia dealerships are already equipped with DC Fast Chargers, ranging from 60 kW to 240 kW, ensuring that customers can charge quickly during routine visits. Kia is also offering advanced home charging solutions supporting 7.4 kW and 11 kW AC chargers, providing flexible and efficient at-home charging options that surpass most mass-market EV offerings in India.
