Kia India has officially started delivering its all-new Kia Carnival, and the first proud owner is the former Indian cricketer and CSK’s own ‘Chinnathala’- Suresh Raina. He took delivery of his Carnival Limousine+ from Jayanti Kia, a dealership based in Delhi/Noida.

The cricketer has chosen his Carnival in Glacier White Pearl colour. The interior gets a Tuscan and Umber dual-tone colourway. The post also includes a video showing the cricketer lifting off the veils and taking delivery of the new car. He is further seen shaking hands with people who look like the dealer and manufacturer staff.

Many congratulated Raina on his new purchase. One of the fans, however, went a bit too curious and asked ‘That looks amazing! Who will be riding in your new car with you?’.To this, Raina replied ‘me and kids’. Another fan also added the name of his wife to the list.

The Carnival is known for the space, luxury and occupant comfort on offer. It has an ex-showroom price of 63.9 lakh and there is just a single variant on sale- Limousine+. The vehicle is claimed to offer a VIP experience and thus would suit the requirements of celebs and public figures like Raina. The new Carnival hosts significant improvements over the vehicle that was previously on sale here. The rear seat experience is top-notch.

When compared with the previous Carnival, the new MPV has improved aesthetics. It looks more like an SUV now. Key exterior features include inverted L-shaped LED DRLs and LED headlights, Kia’s signature black and chrome ‘tiger-nose’ grille, new bumpers, 19-inch wheels, powered gates, sportier-looking rear bumper, inverted L-shaped LED taillights and roof rails.

The fifth-generation Carnival’s cabin is packed with technology and features. It gets two 12.3-inch screens (infotainment touchscreen and instrument cluster), three-zone climate control, an 11-inch head-up display, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, and powered and comfortable seats with ventilation and leg support in the second row, a smart sliding door, electric tailgate, and dual electric sunroof.

The new MPV also comes with an improved safety suite. It gets ABS, EBD, ADAS, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring.

The powertrain remains unchanged at large. The new Carnival is powered by the same 2.2L diesel engine as before. It delivers 190 bhp and 440 Nm of torque and comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle also comes with four disc brakes.

On the day when the new Carnival was launched, Kia also introduced its EV flagship- the EV9 in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 1.29 crore, ex-showroom, the EV9 sets new benchmarks in its segment.

Kia Congratulates Raina For His New Carnival

Jayanti Kia, the dealership that commenced the delivery, expressed their pride in handing over the keys of India’s first Carnival to the celebrated cricketer. The description of the Instagram post reads ‘Congratulations, Mr. Suresh Raina on your new Kia Carnival Limousine-your very own luxury liner! Thank you for placing your trust in us for your car purchase. We’re proud to deliver the first Kia Carnival to Indian Cricketer’.

With nearly 3,000 bookings already underway, Kia India is making a notable comeback with the new Carnival. Despite its premium price, the MPV remains in high demand, especially among individuals looking for a chauffeur-driven, luxury vehicle. Its blend of style, spaciousness, luxury and cutting-edge technology ensures that it continues to be in the garages of celebs like Suresh Raina. For them, more premium alternatives would include Toyota Vellfire and Lexus LM MPV. The Kia, however, is the most affordable and VFM of the lot.
