Kia made their official entry into the Indian market in 2019 with the Seltos, and since then, it has been one of the well-known brands among Indian buyers. Just like Hyundai, Kia also gained popularity among buyers for its premium looks and features at an affordable price. It looks like the South Korean car manufacturer now plans to take things to the next level and expand their lineup in India. Like all manufacturers, Kia also knows that the popularity of EVs and hybrids is on the rise, and they have decided to introduce some of them in the market. Here we have a list of 5 new hybrid and electric cars from Kia that are expected to be launched in the market soon.

5 new kia hybrid and electric cars for india

Carens EV

The first one on the list is a familiar name. The Carens was a popular MPV from Kia, and it is due for an update. The facelifted Carens has been spotted testing several times, and it is expected to be launched in the market sometime this year. Along with the Carens facelift, Kia has also been working on an electric version of the Carens, and we have a couple of pictures of that as well.

The Carens EV or Carens Electric will be based on the Carens facelift and will be launched in the market a few months after the launch of the ICE version. The Kia Carens EV is a three-row EV that is likely to get the 51.4 kWh battery pack, similar to the Creta Electric. It will be a feature-loaded MPV that will be priced competitively.

Syros EV

Kia, after unveiling the Syros in India, shared their plans to introduce an affordable EV in the market. It is actually the electric version of the Syros SUV. It is based on the same platform as the Hyundai Exter, which is sold internationally. It is likely to get two battery pack options, and the electric SUV is expected to be launched in the market in the first half of 2025.

Sonet EV

Recently, we came across images of a Kia Sonet EV with heavy camouflage on Indian roads. Kia is simply going to transform the ICE version of the Kia Sonet into an electric vehicle. The battery pack will be mounted under the floor. It would compete with the likes of the Nexon EV in the segment. The exterior design is likely to remain more or less the same as the ICE version, with EV-specific cosmetic changes. The Kia Sonet EV is expected to be launched sometime this year.

Seltos Hybrid

Kia is currently working on the next-gen Seltos, and the same has been spotted testing too. It will see major changes on the outside and inside. The SUV is likely to be offered with a hybrid petrol engine too. The next-gen Seltos is likely to hit Indian shores later this year or early 2026.

7-Seat Hybrid SUV

The last Kia on the list is a 7-seater SUV that will compete with the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. It is currently known by the codename MQ4i and is based on the Kia Sorento SUV. It will be offered as a strong hybrid SUV with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. The upcoming SUV will be manufactured in India and will be launched here first. It would also be exported to international markets after its India launch. The SUV is still under development and is expected to be launched in the next couple of years.
