In the last 5 years, Kia has introduced several new products to its customers in India. They are stepping up their game in India by expanding their line up with more models. Kia India today revealed the name of their upcoming SUV. The manufacturer has been testing the new SUV for quite some time. The all-new SUV will be called “Kia Syros”.

The upcoming SUV will get the new design language which the brand calls as Kia 2.0. The Kia Syros has drawn inspiration from Kia’s EV9 and Carnival Limousine. Kia Syros will be the first Kia 2.0 SUV offering after Carnival and EV9. It will represent a new chapter in Kia’s journey, blending tradition with innovation.

Kia has also released an official video of the name reveal and in this video, we see the front-end of the upcoming SUV. Last week, Kia also released official sketches of the Syros which gave us a glimpse of how the side profile of the SUV would look like. From the images and the recently released video, it is evident that the SUV will be different in terms of looks and design from others.

It carries a typical SUV like boxy design along with EV9 and Carnival inspired elements. The rear door window and the quarter glass is designed in such a way that it would remind you of Carnival which comes with sliding doors. The L-shaped LED tail lamps, vertically stacked ice cube design LED headlamps with drop down LED DRL are also seen here.

The Kia logo is placed neatly on the bonnet just above the tiger nose grille. We are expecting Syros to get Kia EV9 inspired tiger nose grille. It is going to get cosmetic changes as it is an ICE vehicle.

The Kia Syros as mentioned above has been spotted testing on several occasions. The SUV will be positioned between the sub-4 meter Sonet and the mid-size SUV Seltos. The SUV has been spotted testing with 16 and 17 inch wheels. It is possible that the higher variants get 16 inch wheels and the X-line version of the SUV would come with 17 inchers.

As any Kia product, Syros would also come with several premium features like panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, climate control, selectable drive modes, a powered front seat, Bose speaker system, ADAS, six airbags, and 360-degree camera.

Coming to the engine options, Kia is expected to offer the SUV with both petrol and diesel engine options. The SUV will be offered with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.0 litre, turbocharged petrol and a 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine. The SUV will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. We can expect an iMT gearbox option with the Syros along with automatic transmission.

Initially, Kia will be offering the Syros as ICE vehicle initially. At a later stage they might introduce an electric version in the market. Kia Motors has been very aggressive in the Indian market since beginning. Their first product Seltos has been extremely successful and has in fact redefined the segment completely. Then came the Carnival luxury MPV, which was positioned as a luxurious alternative to the best-selling Toyota Innova Crysta.

The sub-4 meter Sonet compact SUV arrived next, and soon carved out a place for itself in the hotly competitive segment, offering both performance and luxury at a very affordable price. The Carens MPV followed, and took the battle to the Ertiga. Kia even imported the eV6 as a halo car, and the electric crossover is one of the most expensive Kia cars you can buy in India save for the eV9 electric SUV launched earlier this year,
