Kia last year unveiled their all-new compact SUV, Syros, in the Indian market. The official launch of the SUV is yet to happen, and bookings have officially commenced. The SUV has started arriving at dealerships across the country. While we have a clear idea about the variants, features, and engine options, Kia had not revealed the claimed fuel efficiency until now. The manufacturer has now revealed the ARAI mileage figures for the Syros just before its official launch.

The Kia Syros, as we know, is an SUV that sits between the Sonet and the Seltos. It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. With the Syros, Kia is aiming at customers who are looking for a sub-compact SUV with a spacious and feature-loaded cabin. However, fuel efficiency figures are something that many customers still consider while buying a car.

The Syros is available with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol version of the SUV is available with both manual and DCT gearbox options. The petrol manual version offers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 18.20 kmpl, while the DCT version gets 17.68 kmpl. The diesel version, on the other hand, comes with manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. The manual diesel variant offers 20.75 kmpl, while the automatic offers 17.65 kmpl.

The Kia Syros is a very unique-looking SUV. The exterior design of the SUV draws inspiration from the Kia EV9. It features vertically stacked headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The boxy design gives it a rugged yet utilitarian feel. The signature tiger-nose grille is missing on the Syros, and it instead gets a large air dam on the lower part of the bumper.

The SUV includes silver skid plates, flush-type door handles, 17-inch alloy wheels, chunky, squarish side claddings, and roof rails, adding to the SUV look of the vehicle. The side profile of the Syros might almost remind you of a boxy minivan. At the rear, the SUV gets L-shaped LED tail lamps on the left and right sides of the windshield.

The actual tail lamps are LED wraparound units placed right behind the rear wheel arches. There are silver claddings on the sides and rear of the SUV. The interior of the SUV looks modern and, in fact, feels premium.

The SUV gets two large screens on the dashboard. One of them is a touchscreen infotainment system, while the other is a fully digital instrument cluster. This unique display panel has been named the Trinity Panoramic Display by Kia.

Kia Syros offers premium features like ambient lighting, flush buttons for engine start/stop, an electronic parking brake, a wireless charging pad, ventilated front and rear seats, an electrically adjustable driver seat, a panoramic sunroof, a two-spoke steering wheel, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, ADAS Level 2, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, hill-hold control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and front and rear parking sensors, among others.

The turbo petrol version of the Syros is a three-cylinder unit that generates 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine of the Syros generates 115 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque.
