Kia launched its all-new sub-4-meter SUV, Syros, in the market a few months ago. The SUV has reached dealerships, and deliveries for the same have also started. The SUV is available with both petrol and diesel engines, and we now have a video from an owner who shares his experience with the base diesel variant of the Kia Syros SUV.

The video has been shared by Anil’s Tech on his YouTube channel. In this video, the owner shares his experience with the base variant of the Syros diesel SUV. He mentions that this is a value-for-money variant. The owner shares all the features that the base variant of the Syros offers.

The owner mentions that the petrol version of the Syros starts at the HTK variant, while the diesel version starts with the HTK(O) variant only. There is a considerable price difference between the petrol and diesel versions. The owner paid slightly over Rs 13 lakh on-road for the HTK(O) variant in Kerala.

When compared to the Syros petrol, the HTK(O) diesel variant comes with features like an electric sunroof, 16-inch alloy wheels, auto headlamps, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a multi-function steering wheel, power windows, slightly tinted windows, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera with guidelines, and so on.

The owner mentions that he is getting several premium features in the lower variant of the Syros, which is one of the reasons he bought it. He mentions, however, that the SUV is missing a few features, such as a rear windscreen wiper, LED DRLs, and the L-shaped LED element on either side of the rear windscreen. The owner wished that Kia had offered these features instead of a sunroof.

The owner mentions that he is extremely happy with the fit and finish of the body panels and also likes the design. It is a very unique-looking design. The owner sold his Hyundai i20 diesel and bought the Syros. Apart from these features, another reason he opted for the diesel version was its efficiency.

While the petrol version of the Syros is powerful and comes with a turbocharged engine, he wasn’t very sure about the fuel efficiency. The diesel has a claimed economy of around 20 kmpl, and he has been getting around 16 kmpl. The car has only done about 400 km, and he hopes that the efficiency will increase after the first service.

The owner also talks about the quality of the interiors and the materials used. He says that Kia has offered a decent number of features with the Syros, and even the base variant of the SUV doesn’t look too cheap. The owner also owns a Jeep Compass, and the Syros is as tall and wide as that. In fact, the Syros is wider than the Seltos, which translates into a more spacious and airy cabin. The Syros also offers a boot that is larger than the Seltos. Overall, the owner of the Syros is very happy with the performance, features, and price of this SUV.
