We have seen several videos in the past where wild animals like elephants have attacked people and vehicles that are passing through their territory. Sometimes these animals are lost and wander away from their herd. Here we have one such video that has been circulating online since last week. The video shows a baby left separated from its mother roaming on the road. The baby elephants was so scared that it started chasing a bus that was passing through the road thinking that was its mother. The video has gone viral on the internet.

The video has been shared by Manorama Online on their YouTube channel. In this video, we see the baby elephant standing next to a private bus. The video was recorded from Wayanad’s Tholpetty region. The road seen here in the video cuts through a jungle and it looks like the animal lost its way or got separated from its mother.

The elephant was so scared that it was moving with the bus. The elephant probably mistook the big bus for its mother. We can hear locals say to the bus driver to stop and move the bus slowly to ensure that the baby elephant doesn’t get hurt. Someone travelling in the bus also recorded a video in which we can see the elephant chasing the bus.

It ran after the bus for few hundred metres, before getting distracted by a passing Maruti alto car. The locals informed forest department and took the baby elephant with them.

The elephant was given medication and car that it needed and the officials monitored the health ro ensure that the animal was doing fine. However, they did not stop there. They located the mother of the baby elephant and later got it reunited with its mother.

The video of the elephant chasing the bus and also getting released back in the wild. The video shows dedication and efforts put by the forest department. This is the standard procedure and if in case the elephant is not reunited with the herd or its mother, the officials capture the animal and train it in captivity.

Animals like elephants are extremely dangerous at times. They are often known to attack people and vehicles that are seen in their territory. Elephants are extremely territorial and if you ever get trapped in front of an elephant. Always try to not panic. Stop your vehicle and turn off the engine.

Wild animals are extremely sensitive to noises and engine noise of a vehicle can be at times irritating. If you are travelling at night, turn off the lights and never get out of the vehicle. If you see the animal coming closer to your vehicle, slowly drive the car in reverse. If you get out of the vehicle and try to run, these animals will chase you as it is their natural instinct.

We have seen several videos where wild animals like elephants, Gaur and so on. It is also a good idea to drive slowly through such areas and never stop or step out of the vehicle to feed the animals or click photos.
