Mahindra BE 6 Electric SUV In All-Black Color Is Pure Menace

Mahindra has launched the BE 6 electric SUV in the country. Five variants are available. Test drives are already underway at most dealerships, and the public has huge interest and enthusiasm regarding this electric vehicle (EV). We see people actively taking test drives and experiencing the BE 6. Out of its 8 colors, the Stealth Black is probably the most menacing. In a recent video shared by the channel 'The Regular Indian Guy', the host gives us a detailed tour of the same.
The video starts by showing the exterior design. The BE 6 excels with its styling. The bodywork has neatly drawn lines and fine surfaces. There is an air of edginess to it, which is likeable. It looks too radical and futuristic for a vehicle of our time and is thus an instant attention-magnet. The Black color only adds to its appeal.
The host shows all areas of the design including the sensors (6 at the front and 6 at the rear), tow hook and aero vents. The BE 6 has an active air vent at the front, which helps in making it more aerodynamically optimized.
The vehicle gets all LED lighting and rides on 20-inch EV-spec wheels. The front and rear lighting signatures and animations are also shown in the video.
The EV has 455L of boot space. To further enhance practicality, it has integrated hang hooks, lights, and charging ports. The spare tyre is a space-saving 18-inch unit.
The cabin makes generous use of premium quality materials and soft-touch surfaces. It gets a dual-tone colorway, cockpit-like styling and the steering has a dual-D cut design. There is an illuminated BE logo at its center. The paddles attached to the steering wheel control regeneration levels. There are even hotkeys for single-pedal driving and Overboost. The Overboost mode delivers elevated power and torque outputs for a short span of time (around 10 seconds), which can make overtaking more exciting than ever.
The driver seat gets electric adjustment, memory function and manual lumbar support. The vehicle also gets rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and level 2 ADAS. The driving modes here are Range, Everyday and Race. The SUV also comes with a HUD and ambient lighting. There is a 360-degree camera and an interior (cabin) camera as well, which can be used to shoot selfie videos and for video conferencing! The vehicle also features wireless smartphone chargers as well. The frameless IRVM offers an auto-dimming function.
The Mahindra BE 6 comes with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system that comes with Dolby Atmos. The audio quality is phenomenal and you also get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The vehicle also comes with a massive glass roof with integrated lighting elements.
The host also shows the rear seat design and room offered there. He says that there is good legroom, ample headroom and one can be seated comfortably. The rear seat gets a split folding function, armrest and the occupants also enjoy features like charging ports, multimedia connectivity, reading lamps etc.
The BE 6 is underpinned by Mahindra's all-new INGLO platform. This high-voltage electric architecture is quite versatile and supports top hats of various natures and battery packs of varying sizes. Two battery packs are available on the BE 6. The lower variants are equipped with a 59 kWh unit while the range-topping variant shown in this video, gets a larger 79 kWh battery.
The electric motor sits on the rear axle and produces 280 hp and 380 Nm on the top-spec. The lower variants have power outputs of 230 hp. In terms of range, the 59 kWh unit is claimed to return 535 km per charge while the larger will deliver 682 km.
The available variants of the BE 6 are Pack ONE, Pack ONE Above, Pack TWO, Pack THREE Select and Pack THREE. The Pack ONE has an ex-showroom price of 18.9 lakh while the range-topping variant with its 79 kWh battery pack costs 26.9 lakh before taxes.
