Mahindra BE 6E Electric SUV: All The Details You Should Know
Mahindra has managed to shock the entire country with the launch of its newest electric SUVs, the BE 6E and the XEV 9E. Launched with a starting price of Rs 18.90 lakh, the BE 6E, which is the smaller of the two SUVs, is surely going to become a big hit in India. However, if you are one of those people who want to know everything about the SUV before making up your mind to buy it, then you have come to the right place. Powertrain and Pricing Details
As for the powertrain, the Mahindra BE 6E comes equipped with an electric motor capable of producing 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. It will be available with an RWD layout. As for the battery pack options, it will be offered with both a 79 kWh and a 59 kWh battery pack.
The former will offer a range of 682 km, and the latter will offer 535 km of range. Mahindra is also offering fast charging capabilities for this SUV, where it can be charged from 20–80 percent in just 20 minutes using a 175 kW charger.
AC charging with an 11 kW wall charger will take 8 hours to fully charge the 79 kWh battery and 6 hours for the 59 kWh battery. So far, Mahindra has not revealed the exact variant list and all the pricing details of the BE 6E. However, it has stated that the BE 6E will start at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mahindra BE 6E Platform, Dimensions, and Specifications
First off, before getting to the juicy stuff—its unique design—we have to talk about its platform and dimensions. The all-new Mahindra BE 6E is based on the brand’s modular and lightweight skateboard architecture called INGLO. To develop this particular platform, Mahindra has gone above and beyond.
It has performed numerous tests to ensure it can handle all kinds of abuse. The INGLO platform offers high structural integrity, crash resilience, and flexibility. Both the BE 6E and the XEV 9E are based on the same architecture, and a number of future products will also use this platform.
As for the dimensions, the Mahindra BE 6E measures 4,371 mm in length, 1,907 mm in width, 1,627 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. The ground clearance is 207 mm. The BE 6E also offers a decent boot size of 455 liters, and there is a frunk with a capacity of 45 liters.
Exterior Design
Now coming to the main highlight of the Mahindra BE 6E: its stunning exterior design. This beautiful, aggressive, and sharp-looking SUV is based on Mahindra’s Heartcore Design philosophy. It features a very athletic silhouette, unlike any other SUV in India.
It gets a very edgy front fascia with unique and massive C-shaped LED DRLs. The LED headlights of this SUV are also hidden, which is a unique touch. The bonnet of this SUV features a unique air vent, typically not seen on electric SUVs.
Apart from this, it gets a high-gloss black treatment on the center portion and a silver skid plate at the bottom. There are two LED fog lights on the lower portion of the sculpted front bumper as well. Moving on to the side profile, the same gloss black treatment continues.
It gets chunky, squared-off wheel arches finished in gloss black, along with the same treatment on the doors. There are flush-type door handles at the front, and the rear door handles have been nearly integrated into the rear doors in the C-pillar. Apart from these, the biggest highlight will be its 20-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels.
There will also be 19-inch wheels as standard. The BE 6E gets very short overhangs, and its overall silhouette is very athletic and sporty. As for the rear end, the SUV boasts the same C-shaped LED taillights, a unique double-bubble spoiler, and a similarly designed rear bumper with silver skid plates.
Interior Design
Now coming to the Mahindra BE 6E’s interior, it must be mentioned that the interior of this electric SUV is just as unique as its exterior. It boasts a race-inspired cabin where the driver is the central element, and everything is catered to them. It gets twin floating screens at the front.
The one on the right is the digital instrument gauge cluster, and the one on the left is the infotainment screen. Just underneath these screens are the sleek AC vents, which almost look hidden. Additionally, there is a central divider that splits the cabin into two.
For the convenience of the driver, the BE 6E gets a distinct aircraft-inspired gear lever. There is also a two-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated BE logo with all the controls on it. Mahindra has also kept sustainability in mind while designing the interior.
It features recycled PET fabrics, premium finishes, and plush cushioning for all five seats. There is also a unique infinity glass roof that comes with programmable LED ambient lighting offering 16 million color options. The same lights are also seen on the dashboard.
Features
Now coming to the features offered with the new Mahindra BE 6E. The SUV gets the all-new MAIA—Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture. As part of it, the BE 6E comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor with 24 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It also gets WiFi 6.0 and Bluetooth 5.2, along with 5G internet.
The driver also gets VisionX Augmented Reality. Other features include Amazon Alexa integration for hands-free operation and the LiveYourMood system, which offers pre-set themes and sounds designed by A.R. Rahman. It also gets a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos.
Safety Features
As for safety features, Mahindra is offering the BE 6E with a ton of active safety features, including ADAS Level 2. It gets lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, and obstacle detection. There is also a 360-degree camera, 7 airbags, and a crash-resistant battery.
