Limited-Run Mahindra BE6 Batman Edition Launched In India At Rs 27.79 Lakh
It has become a common practice among carmakers to roll out dark-themed editions of their hot-selling models. These often bring about sizeable spikes in sales. Mahindra has, however, chosen to stand unique by launching a 'Batman-inspired' edition of the BE6, instead of a random dark edition. The company seems to have made a Batmobile out of the BE6 and representatives from Warner Bros, the studio most associated with Batman movies graced the occasion with their presence.
This vehicle, called the 'Batman Edition', is limited to just 300 units. The booking portal will go live on August 23, 2025. The limited edition has an ex-showroom price of Rs 27.79 lakh. The deliveries are set to begin on September 20, 2025- which is also the 'international Batman day'!
Mahindra BE6 Batman Edition: What Is Different?
As the name implies, this version of the BE6 is a nod to the Batman movies. Mahindra has in a way, built a desi Batmobile. First things first, unlike what previous rumours had suggested, this is NOT a convertible. It is a regular BE6 with major cosmetic upgrades.
We were however, right with our conclusion that the BE6 featured in the teaser would have a Matte Black paint. The Batman edition wears Satin Black. Some parts like the callipers and suspension are finished in Alchemy Gold. The electric SUV rides on 20-inch wheels.
Both the front doors get Batman decals. 'Bat' logo can also be seen on multiple spots like the hub caps and the boot lid. On the fenders where the regular SUV has the variant names written, the limited edition hosts 'bat' logos.
The changes aren't limited to the exterior alone. Inside, the dark colour scheme continues, with tasteful use of Alchemy Gold. The steering wheel in-touch controller, electric parking brake, and even the keyfob gets touches of Alchemy Gold. The interior makes generous use of Charcoal leather while the shroud around the driver gets a brushed Gold finish.
The seat upholstery is finished in Suede and leather and comes with contrast stitching. Several 'Bat' logos can be found on the inside as well. There is also a pin stripe branding and bat logo inside. A signature Dark Knight bat emblem has also been given on the infinity roof. The puddle lamps now project the bat logo. You also see the insignia once you start up the vehicle.
In short, this limited edition model does maximum justice to the Batman franchise, and can be the best buy for fans and aficionados of the franchise.
Specifications
Needless to say, the limited edition is also based on the INGLO platform. Mahindra developed this high-voltage skateboard in-house, adhering to global standards. Two BYD-sourced battery packs are offered on the regular BE6- 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The former claims an ARAI-certified range of 556km per charge while the latter offers 682km.
Together with the 79 kWh battery pack, the single-motor setup makes 281 bhp and 380 Nm. It can do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 6.7 seconds. It comes with four selectable ride modes- Default, Range, Everyday, and Race. It is just the 79 kWh battery pack that's available on the Batman edition.
Regular Mahindra BE6: Key Highlights
Even the regular BE6 looks extremely striking with its sharp lines and clean surfaces. It comes with full-LED lighting, flush-fitting door handles, illuminated logos, a 45L frunk, a split spoiler at the rear, coupe-like roofline, a wraparound glasshouse and a dual-tone colour scheme. It rides on 19-inch aero-optimised wheels with 245/55 section tyres. Larger 245/50 R20-inch wheels are optional.
The feature list is quite comprehensive. The electric SUV comes equipped with two 12.3-inch screens- one for infotainment and the other for instrumentation, a fixed glass panoramic sunroof, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, wireless charger, Level 2 ADAS and more.
