A lot of people might not be aware that the Mahindra Bolero Neo is a very strong-selling SUV from the brand. Now, in order to keep its sales figures consistent, Mahindra Automotive is working on the development of the Bolero Neo facelift. Recently, a test mule of the Bolero Neo was spotted testing on public roads. This time around, the Bolero Neo will be getting a revised front fascia and a few other cosmetic updates.

Starting off with the main highlight of the upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo facelift, it will be getting a brand-new front grille. Going away will be the signature Mahindra vertical slats, and in place of them, the SUV will get new horizontal slats. Additionally, it will also be getting a new lower grille, which will be similar to the upper grille, and a trapezoidal air dam.

Apart from these, the rectangular front single-barrel halogen headlights will remain the same. However, their internals will be changed to give the SUV a refreshed appearance. It will also boast the Twin Peaks logo in the centre. Moving on to the side profile, the main highlight will be the set of updated 15-inch alloy wheels.

The rest of the vehicle will remain the same. The company will continue to offer the same side steps, tailgate-mounted spare wheel with cover, conventional antenna, rear taillights, and overall silhouette. This particular facelift is an evolutionary facelift aimed at refreshing the model for the current model year.

New Bolero Neo could get updated interior

At the moment, it has not been confirmed; however, Mahindra could be offering the facelifted Bolero Neo with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It could also get automatic climate control, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, along with a few other updates.

Powertrain options

Mahindra will most likely retain the same engine as the current Bolero Neo. It is the brand's time-tested 1.5-litre three-cylinder mHawk100 diesel engine, which is capable of generating 100 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. Only a 5-speed manual gearbox is expected.

While Mahindra in recent years has become popular for its modern, technologically advanced, and 4X4-capable SUVs, it has also been a favourite of rural vehicle buyers across the country. The Bolero, over the years, has maintained consistent sales and has been adding to Mahindra's sales targets for a long time. Currently, the Mahindra Bolero Neo and Neo+ combined have an average monthly sales figure of 8,000 units, which is very strong.

Next-generation Bolero is also coming

In addition to the Bolero Neo facelift, the company is also working on the development of the next generation of the Bolero. This time around, the new Bolero will be based on the New Flexible Architecture (NFA) platform, which is a modular monocoque chassis. It will help in making the Bolero less rugged so that more urban buyers can also buy it.

The test mule of this new Bolero has been spotted with Thar ROXX-like circular LED headlights and DRLs, flared wheel arches, 18-inch alloy wheels, and an overall bold body style. It is believed that it will also come with ADAS Level 2, a 360-degree camera, a more premium interior, and a ton of other features.
