Mahindra INGLO Born Electric Platform Details Revealed Ahead Of BE 6e And XEV 9e Launch
Mahindra Automotive is gearing up for the unveiling of its all-new electric SUVs, the BE 6E and the XEV 9E, in India. Both of these models will be based on Mahindra’s in-house developed INGLO electric platform. Recently, the company shared a detailed video explaining how their INGLO-born electric platform is one of the most advanced and versatile electric platforms currently on the market. Apart from this, the video also reveals key details such as battery capacities, design, and unique features.
Mahindra INGLO Platform
The video providing all the specifications of the Mahindra INGLO platform has been shared on YouTube by Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs on their channel. In this video, Velusamy R., President – Automotive, Technology, and Production Development at Mahindra Automotive, explains the details of the INGLO platform.
He starts by explaining that Mahindra’s INGLO platform was designed from the ground up and has been specifically developed for EVs. Velusamy added that it is not like other platforms, which are altered versions of ICE platforms. After this, he mentions that the INGLO platform is very versatile and modular.
Following this, he states that this particular INGLO platform will be used on the Mahindra BE 6E and XEV 9E, along with other Mahindra Born Electric products. Next, the host talks about the lower center of gravity offered by this flat-floored electric platform.
Mahindra’s INGLO Platform: Details
As per Velusamy, the new Mahindra skateboard architecture will be offered with two battery pack options. The first and smaller battery pack will be a 59 kWh battery, and the other will be a bigger 79 kWh battery pack. At the moment, the exact range offered by each of these battery packs has not been revealed.
INGLO Performance
In terms of performance, the single-motor rear-wheel-drive variants of the Mahindra Born Electric SUV will range from 228 to 282 bhp. What’s also interesting is that Mahindra has cleverly integrated the electric motor, inverter, and transmission.
The company has also highlighted that the upcoming electric SUVs from Mahindra will feature semi-active suspension and brake-by-wire technology, which is seen in F1 and Formula E cars. Overall, the company has designed this platform to rival the performance of global electric vehicles.
Safety and Stability
As stated above, the Mahindra INGLO platform, like all skateboard platforms, will have its battery pack integrated into its floor. The main benefit of this design is that it significantly reduces the center of gravity of the SUVs.
Also, the floorboard of this platform will be completely flat. Mahindra has revealed that the structure of this platform is made out of ultra-high-strength boron steel. It has highlighted that the SUVs based on this platform will be some of the safest vehicles on the planet.
Mahindra Unlimit Event
On the 26th of November at the Mahindra Unlimit Event, both the BE 6E and the XEV 9E electric SUVs will be showcased. The former will be a smaller but very aggressive-looking SUV with sharp body lines and a cockpit-like interior. Meanwhile, the XEV 9E will be a unique coupe SUV boasting massive road presence.
