6 New Mahindra Electric SUVs To Watch Out For

Even though the sales of electric vehicles have been declining in the last few months, Mahindra Automotive is determined to launch its range of all-new Born Electric SUVs in India. These new models will be launched in various segments, and details of all these SUVs are here for you. So, without wasting any more of your time, let’s jump directly into them.
First off, Mahindra will be launching the all-new XUV 3XO EV. This new model will replace the XUV400 EV SUV, which Mahindra currently offers in India. The upcoming XUV 3XO EV will boast styling similar to the XUV 3XO, which was recently launched.
However, like all EVs, it will feature a few EV-specific design cues, such as a closed-off grille and other copper-colored accents all around. In terms of the powertrain, it will get the same 40 kWh battery pack that is offered with the XUV400.
As for pricing, expect a premium over the current XUV400’s pricing, which starts at Rs 15.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.39 lakh. Once launched, it will also compete with the Tata Nexon EV.
As we all know, Mahindra is diligently working on the coupe version of its already popular model, the XUV700. This new model will be called the Mahindra XUV.e9, and it will feature a unique coupe SUV design. A few test mules of this SUV have been spotted testing in the country.
From the front, it will look like the XUV700; however, it will feature a closed-off grille, new LED headlights, and DRLs. It will also get flush-type door handles and aero blade-style alloy wheels. As mentioned, in the rear, it will have a coupe SUV-style sloping roofline.
Moving to the interior, it will have three massive connected screens on the dashboard. It will also feature a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo. Additionally, it will come with a new gear knob with leather and gloss black finishes, along with a rotary dial. In terms of powertrain, it will be equipped with a battery pack offering a 500 km range.
Alongside the test mules of the XUV.e9, over the last few months, we have seen test mules of the BE.05 EV SUV as well. This new model will be based on the Born Electric platform developed by Mahindra. It will also feature a coupe-like sloping roofline and a very futuristic-looking exterior design.
Recently, it has been reported that it will come with three drivetrain options. There will be two Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) versions and one All-Wheel Drive (AWD) version. Reportedly, the AWD variant will do a sprint from 0-100 kmph in 5 seconds.
The RWD Performance and the RWD variants will also post 0-100 kmph times of just 6 seconds and 7.6 seconds, respectively. There will also be two battery pack options of 60 kWh and 82 kWh, offering a range of around 400 to 586 km on a single full charge.
Launch and deliveries of this model are expected to commence in 2025. As for pricing, it will be in the range of Rs 20-25 lakh. Once launched, it will take on rivals like the Tata Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti Suzuki eVX.
Like the XUV.e9, the XUV.e8 will also be the electric version of the XUV700. However, unlike the XUV.e9, it will not feature a sloping roofline but rather a standard rear design like the XUV700. Apart from this, it will look identical to the XUV.e9 at the front, with some changes in the rear.
On the inside, it will also feature the futuristic triple-screen dashboard. It will come equipped with a number of modern features. Coming to powertrain specifications, the XUV.e8 will have an 80 kWh battery pack.
Some reports have claimed that it could also get an all-wheel-drive system with a dual-motor setup. This configuration will deliver power outputs ranging from 230 bhp to over 350 bhp. As for range, it is expected to be around 450-500 km.
In addition to the BE.05, Mahindra is also gearing up to launch the BE Rall.e. This more rugged variant of the BE.05 will feature larger all-terrain tires, a roof rack, larger skid plates, side claddings, and many other rally and off-road-focused features.
It will also be based on the same INGLO platform developed by Mahindra for its Born Electric offerings. Most likely, it will get the same 60 kWh and 82 kWh battery packs, offering 400 km and 586 km of range, respectively.
Mahindra will also be launching the largest SUV from its Born Electric lineup—the BE.07. This particular model will be launched in October 2026. Like the other BE range of SUVs, it will also feature a sleek design and offer an impressive driving range.
At the moment, no exact powertrain specifications of this SUV have been shared. It is believed that, as the largest offering from the brand, it will feature the biggest battery pack.
